The series is inspired by the novel, The Brass Verdict written by Michael Connelly. It features Manuel Garcia-Rulfo in the lead as Mickey Haller. It begins with an array of cases assigned to Haller due to a mysterious murder of his contemporary related to a case of a hotshot millionaire.
Created by David E. Kelley, the official synopsis of the series is, “Sidelined after an accident, hotshot Los Angeles lawyer Mickey Haller restarts his career – and his trademark Lincoln – when he takes on a murder case.”
There was also a movie based on the same book, released in 2011, that starred Matthew McConaughey as Haller, along with Neve Campbell, Christopher Gorham, and Becki Newton in leading roles. However, the series and the movie are nowhere connected.
The first season premiered on May 13, 2022. Unfortunately, the second season will not be coming to Netflix this August 2022 since it was not mentioned on the complete list of new releases this month.
