According to the official press release by Disney+, In Season 2, after winning back the Mighty Ducks team name last year, the squad-with-heart and their coach Alex Morrow (Graham) take to the road to attend an intense summer hockey institute in California run by charming yet hardcore former NHL player, Colin Cole (Josh Duhamel). It’s a place for kids to get excellent at hockey — without school getting in the way. The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers Season 1: What happened in the finale episode?
The finale episode, State of Play, was released on May 28, 2021. The episode is directed by Michael Spiller and written by Marissa Berlin & Todd Linden. In the episode, the viewers got to see that the Don’t Bothers defeated the Ducks to advance to the United States championship game. Despite suffering a leg ailment, Sofi struggles to stay out of the game because doing so would result in a forfeit for the Don’t Bother team for not having enough players.
The members of the Don’t Bother determined that she should sit out because of her injuries rather than risk losing the title. Due to the forfeit, the Ducks are declared the winner. The Ducks and Don’t Bother to meet in the hallway as they leave the rink and decide to play a game at the Ice Palace with a bet on the line.
The Don’t Bother score first in the game’s opening minutes at the Ice Palace. Coach T encourages dirty play by his team because there is only one referee. The Ducks are ahead by two goals after two periods. Bombay surprises the squad by bringing them their original Ducks clothes as they reunite in the Don’t Bothers locker room.
When the game is tied, the Don’t Bother team deploys the Flying V formation to score the game-winning goal and secure the Ducks’ reputation. In the Ice Palace, Bombay later resurfaces the ice using a Zamboni and the original Ducks emblem at center ice.
