Are you ready to binge-watch more of this reality competition series? Continue reading to learn more about The Mole Season 2.

If you remember, there was a U.S. version of the series, which previously aired for five seasons on ABC from 2001-2008 with Anderson Cooper as one of the initial hosts. Now, “The Mole,” is back with a brand new season after a fairly good reception on Netflix, which showcases that the show is a reimagined version of the early aughts broadcast hit once helmed by Anderson Cooper that ran for five seasons. Both series are based on the original Belgian format, “De Mol.” The high-stakes competition series is returning for another round with 12 brand-new players to accuse of being absolutely suss.

Each week, the group will have to work together on a series of missions testing their skills and endurance – be it breaking out of a locked prison cell or searching for sunken treasure – to add money to a prize pot. But within the cast lies a saboteur, aka the Mole, who has secretly been tasked by producers to undermine the players’ efforts to keep the earnings as low as possible, while staying under the radar and above suspicion.

After each challenge, the contestants must take a quiz about the identity of the impostor, and whoever is the furthest from the truth is immediately booted from the competition, making it progressively more clear who is not the Mole.

Ultimately, only one person will outlast the competition and go head-to-head against the Mole to win the accumulated cash prize. The contestants’ names have not been released yet, as Netflix is still searching for the best participants before confirming the new players. So, if you want to take a chance and feature in the second season, you can submit your application here. The next season is expected to have at least 10 episodes with an average runtime of 43 minutes, just like the prior season which will drop on a weekly basis to declare the winner of the season after the end of the third week.

We would like to bring attention to the fact that the exact date has yet to be determined as the renewal was just announced a few hours ago. However, like the previous season, it is expected to be released sometime in the fall of 2023, with October being the most likely month if the production starts on schedule. Of course, this is all speculative, and more information will be released later! In the meantime, take a look at the renewal status of the series that was shared among their followers, quoting, “The Mole has been renewed for Season 2!” Check out the post on Netflix’s Twitter handle below:

The Mole: What has happened in the series so far

In the prior season, the viewers saw that “Twelve players complete challenges while trying to identify the one among them who’s sabotaging their missions in this reboot of the cult-classic series.” The season was produced by Eureka Productions with a new host, Alex Wagner; it’s unclear whether she’ll return for Season 2. Moreover, the winner of this season was William Richardson. Take a look at the official episode guide to understand the themes and concepts of the series:

Episode 1: Are You The Mole?: Twelve crafty competitors gather in Australia’s ancient Daintree Rainforest to begin the game, with no idea which of them might be plotting sabotage.

Episode 2: Take No Prisoners: A puzzling jailbreak challenge ends in a nail-biting finish. The next day, the players face a new mind game that pits them against each other.

Episode 3: Knowledge Is Power: The players have an opportunity to get to know each other better on a trip to the Great Barrier Reef, where they set out for a treasure hunt at sea.

Episode 4: Bank Heist: One person makes a decision that shocks the others before an elimination with a surprise twist. During an Outback bank heist, some players meltdown.

Episode 5: Human Lie Detector: If three teams can move fast, a mail delivery mission could boost the prize pot. Lunch puts one player in the hot seat.

Episode 6: Mountain Mole: A high-stakes climb through the Blue Mountains pushes the players physically and mentally, and begins to shift suspicion onto some new targets.

Episode 7: Spot the Fake: The six players remaining after another elimination head to Sydney, where they’ll need to spot subtle differences between genuine and fake.

Episode 8: The Bird Cage: One person points fingers, but is it all misdirection? The players piece together clues and watch each other like hawks during a mission in Sydney.

Episode 9: Cold Hard Cash: With the end in sight and no one left to trust, the four remaining players in the game bundle up for a grueling trek across the Snowy Mountains.

Episode 10: Who Is The Mole?: The final three players go into stealth mode for the last mission before a quiz that will reveal the truth: Who is the winner, and who is The Mole?
