If you’re wondering the same, then you have reached the right place, as we at Web News Observer have compiled everything the final episode will cover, especially if you’re left wondering what will become of the Johnsons and their relationship with their quirky neighbor, Dave.

So, let’s take a closer look at what’s in store for the final episode of the beloved The Neighborhood Season 5.

The Neighborhood Season 5 Finale Updates: When will the episode premiere?

The Neighborhood Season 5 Episode 22 Release Date and Time Slot

After months of deliberation and waiting the good news has finally arrived! Now, only a few weeks are left as the much anticipated final episode simply titled, “Welcome To The Opening Night,” is all set to premiere next month on Monday, May 22, 2023, at the same time slot of 8/7c on CBS and later available to stream on Paramount Plus.

The official synopsis of the episode states: “Calvin pushes Marty to move up the opening of their new business to get a valuable celebrity endorsement from D.L. Hughley, while Dave continues to struggle with the return of his father, Lamar (guest star Kevin Pollak), and Tina and Gemma prepare for the opening of their new school play.”

In an exclusive TVLine report, Pollak will make his debut in the penultimate episode of Season 5, which is scheduled to air on Monday, May 15, 2022, and he’ll also show up in the May 22 wrap-up of the season. As per CBS, Pollak’s Lamar disappeared when Dave was just 11 years old. Even while Dave is delighted to be reunited with his long-lost father, he is not quite confident that he can trust him.

It turns out that Lamar’s motivations for leaving his family were different from what Dave initially believed. “When Kevin’s name came up, we immediately gravitated toward him,” showrunners Mike Schiff and Bill Martin tell TVLine. “Not just because he’s hilarious, but because he’s immediately warm and lovable, but also a little slippery.”

The main cast members who will appear are as follows: Max Greenfield as Dave Johnson, Cedric the Entertainer as Calvin Butler, Sheaun McKinney as Malcolm Butler, Marcel Spears as Marty Butler, Hank Greenspan as Grover Johnson, Tichina Arnold as Tina Butler, and Beth Behrs as Gemma Johnson. The recurring cast includes Chelsea Harris as Necie, Malik S. as Trey, and Earthquake as Que.

The Neighborhood Season 5 Finale Updates: When will the episode premiere?

When released, The Neighborhood along with all the previous seasons will be available on the CBS channel, Paramount+, YouTube TV, and FuboTV. The series is also available to rent or buy on iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, Google Play, and Vudu, based on the viewers’ location, with preferred membership plans that the users can choose from. On the other hand, it is also available to watch for free on the CBS platform or Pluto.

While you wait, take a look at the official sneak peek promo of the 18th episode, “Welcome To The Future,” which is directed by Carolyn Portner and written by Mark Cendrowski. It will continue the plot from the prior episode which followed, “Calvin and Marty encounter difficulties trying to secure financing for their new business. Also, Dave invites his boss, Gregory, to Grover’s 13th birthday party, much to Gemma’s frustration.”

The Neighborhood Season 6: Will there be another season?

Yes, the show will be back! The CBS network officially confirmed that the series got an early renewal for a sixth season. In January 2023, the series was approved way before the final was even close to its release, which is not surprising as this current season of The Neighborhood ranks as the No. 3 comedy series on Paramount+ based on total minutes viewed, with full episodes streaming up 60% year over year, per Paramount+ and CBS TVE.

We would like to bring attention to the fact that the exact launch date has yet to be determined. However, it has been confirmed that the show will return in the fall of this year. So, the show would most likely have a release window around the late months of the 2023–2024 broadcast season. Additionally, it is expected to follow a similar time slot, with new episodes dropping on a weekly basis every Monday on CBS.

Of course, this is just speculation! In order to receive updates on when The Neighborhood Season 6 premieres, interested viewers can also enable notifications. Hence, we suggest that the viewers be patient and follow all the social media platforms for the series to be updated with the latest information for the new season.
