White Lotus Season 3: When will the new season premiere?

The exact launch date has yet to be determined, as the series was recently renewed by HBO for another season. However, it has been speculated that the forthcoming season would most likely have a release window suggested to be around mid-to-late 2023. On the other hand, you can likely expect it to follow a similar timeline, possibly dropping Sunday nights. Moreover, it is expected to have the same time slot of 9 p.m. (ET/PT) on HBO and be available for streaming concurrently on HBO Max.

In the meantime, fans can expect the series to go into production after the release of the final episode of the second season on December 11, 2022. Until then, we suggest that the viewers should be patient and follow all the social media platforms for the series to be updated with the latest information. The official Twitter handle also confirmed the renewal, quoting, “I can’t wait to welcome you to the next White Lotus property.#TheWhiteLotus has been renewed for Season 3.” Take a look at the official post below:

White Lotus Season 3: What to expect in the new season?

Francesca Orsi, EVP, HBO Programming, Head of HBO Drama Series and Films added, “Reflecting on The White Lotus’ humble, run-and-gun origin as a contained pandemic production, it’s impossible not to be awestruck by how Mike orchestrated one of the buzziest and most critically acclaimed shows. And yet, he’s only continued to reach new heights in season 2, which is the ultimate testament to Mike’s raw, unparalleled vision. His courage to explore the uncharted waters of the human psyche, paired with his signature irreverent humor and buoyant directing style, have us all dreaming of more vacation days at the resort we’ve come to adore. We couldn’t be more thrilled to get the chance to collaborate on a third season together.”

White told Entertainment Weekly that he might return to the original idea he’d pitched for Season Two, which had to do with politics and power. “I might still do it down the road maybe if they give us a third season,” White said. After visiting Sicily, White decided to change the plot to fit the “vibe” of the country. “The kind of mythology of Sicily, at least from the point of view of Americans, is the archetypal sexual politics and role play that you associate with, like, opera and the mafia, and Italian romance. I felt like it should be more focused on men and women and relationships and adultery and have an operatic feel to it, so I pivoted,” White said.

Additionally, Mike White hinted at a potential storyline for Season 3 stating, he is already thinking about the HBO show’s Season 3, even on the red carpet for Season 2, quoting, “We just turned in our last episode to the network yesterday, so it’s hard to think about the next race,” White told Deadline. Further adding, “But if we did, I think it’d be fun to maybe go to a whole different continent. You know, we did Europe, and maybe Asia, something crazy like that, that would be fun.”

White Lotus Season 3: Who is expected to return?

The White Lotus is created, written, and directed by Mike White; executive produced by Mike White, David Bernad, and Nick Hall; co-executive produced by Mark Kamine. Although we won’t be surprised if Jennifer Coolidge reprises her role as Tanya McQuoid-Hunt. “Jennifer is my friend and everybody loved her in the first season, and I was like, ‘I can’t go to Italy without Jennifer.’ And maybe that’s still the case. Like, maybe you can’t go to Japan without Jennifer, either. There are so many fun actors we’ve worked with so far, so it’s just kind of like who’s available.”

Additionally, some of the new actors joining the ensemble in Season 2 include Aubrey Plaza, Will Sharpe, Sabrina Impacciatore, Theo James, Meghann Fahy, F. Murray Abraham, Adam DiMarco, Tom Hollander, Michael Imperioli, Haley Lu Richardson, Leo Woodall, Beatrice Grannó and Simona Tabasco it is rumored that some of them are expected to reprise their roles in the third season if their character arcs allow them to continue and explore more about them individually on new locations. We just have to wait and see for the final episode to get some kind of confirmation.
