The White Lotus Season 3: What is the potential release date?
In November 2022, the series was renewed for a third season ahead of its second-season finale. Since then, no new updates have been provided by the network, and it also seems like the filming hasn’t begun yet! Fortunately, Theo James recently told Rolling Stone that the cast spent about six months filming season two in Sicily, indicating that there is at least some sort of production schedule.
But if we have to speculate, the forthcoming season would most likely have a release window suggested to be around late 2023 or the beginning of 2024. On the other hand, you can probably expect it to release on a similar schedule, possibly on Sunday nights. Moreover, it is expected to have the same time slot of 9 p.m. (ET/PT) on HBO and be available for streaming concurrently on HBO Max.
Until then, we suggest that the viewers be patient and follow all the social media platforms for the series to be updated with the latest information. The official Twitter handle also confirmed the renewal news, quoting, “I can’t wait to welcome you to the next White Lotus property.#TheWhiteLotus has been renewed for Season 3.” Take a look at the official post below:

The White Lotus Season 3: What can the fans expect to see in the new season?
Creator Mike White discussed the themes he’s considering for the third season with HBO after the finale aired, quoting, “The first season kind of highlighted money, and then the second season is sex. I think the third season would be maybe a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality. It feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at The White Lotus.”
Additionally, Mike White hinted at a potential storyline for Season 3 stating, he is already thinking about the HBO show’s Season 3, even on the red carpet for Season 2, quoting, “We just turned in our last episode to the network yesterday, so it’s hard to think about the next race,” White told Deadline. Further adding, “But if we did, I think it’d be fun to maybe go to a whole different continent. You know, we did Europe, and maybe Asia, something crazy like that, that would be fun.”
In a new interview with Vulture, Johnny Knoxville may have spoiled the location. When the interviewer asked him, “Just promise me that if The White Lotus season three comes your way, you’ll consider it,” he replied, “Are you kidding? Mike White is a very close friend of mine. He and I had been in Tokyo together. I think that’s where the next… oh, I’m not giving anything away. I might call him again as soon as this is over.” Moreover, executive producer David Bernad, too, basically confirmed Asia as the location for season three.
“We’ve tried to work in Asia a lot, and hopefully season three will be our chance to make something happen there,” he said. Some of the new actors who joined the ensemble in Season 2 include Aubrey Plaza, Will Sharpe, Sabrina Impacciatore, Theo James, Meghann Fahy, F. Murray Abraham, Adam DiMarco, Tom Hollander, Michael Imperioli, Haley Lu Richardson, Leo Woodall, Beatrice Grannó and Simona Tabasco are rumored to reprise their roles in the third season if their character arcs allow them to continue more about them individually on a new location.
We just have to wait and see if HBO provides some kind of confirmation. Although we won’t be surprised if Jennifer Coolidge reprises her role the chances seem bleak at the moment. On the other hand, in an interview, Britton said she has yet to be asked back for season three, but would love to return. “I have loved collaborating with him and I’ll say yes to him ’til the end of time,” she said.
White teased the return of Connie Britton’s character, Nicole, to the show ahead of season two. “He wanted me to be in the second season, and there was an idea that I loved for the character,” Britton told Deadline. “Our intention is to do it in the third season. A piece of casting didn’t work in the second season and we’re hoping to [do] that in the third season. I would love to see a spinoff on every character in that show.”
Apart from HBO and HBO Max, you can stream The White Lotus by renting or purchasing it on Google Play, iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, and Vudu. Furthermore, no teaser has been released, and we do not expect to see one anytime soon! Typically, such promotions begin about a month before the premiere. In the meantime, catch up with The White Lotus Season 2, which follows the exploits of guests and employees over the span of a week.
The season also follows various guests over the span of a week in the White Lotus’ Sicily location. While a darker side of the picture-perfect travelers begins to emerge, the hotel’s professional but prickly manager tries to keep two young locals-each striving to get ahead by different means out of her luxury establishment.
