Less than 24 hours later, Tiffany Haddish is back on stage after being booked for a second alleged DUI, for which the arrest came after the Beverly Hills Police Department received a call at 5:45 a.m. of a woman unresponsive at the wheel on Beverly Drive. The stand-up comedian and actress has found a rather clever way, with her signature wit and charm, to address the elephant in the room during her latest stand-up comedy set, which was held in Long Beach, California.

Haddish, 43, turned the potentially uncomfortable situation into comedic gold as she lightened the mood by managing to find humor in even the most challenging moments. The actress performed at a previously scheduled stand-up show at the Laugh Factory, and, according to the exclusive audio obtained by TMZ of the set, she addressed the arrest when an audience member of the show asked about what happened “last night.”

The “Haunted Mansion” actress repeated as the crowd roared with delight and curiosity to know what her answer might be, “Ah, damn.” Before cracking a pun, Haddish replied, “You tell me,” which gathered some laughter that eventually turned to big waves of laughter once she joked about the situation by saying, “I don’t know, I had prayed to God to send me a man with a job and career, preferably in a uniform, and I answered my prayers,” she said, per the recording obtained by the outlet.

Delivering the punchline to outrageous applause, she joked about thanking God for making her wish come true as she later added, “Because God believes in me,” to a joke which she has previously used in an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” following her 2022 DUI arrest in Georgia.

Her latest arrest comes following a Thanksgiving event at Los Angeles’ Laugh Factory. “We responded to a call of a vehicle on the roadway at 5:45 this morning,” a Beverly Hills police spokesperson exclusively told Page Six. “The investigation led us to arrest her for a DUI.” So far, no one has been reported to be injured from the incident, and after hours of being in the police station, Haddish was released from custody that afternoon with a citation.

As stated above, this isn’t the first DUI arrest that the Girls Trip actress has recently gotten into her record.

Last year, on January 14, 2022, Haddish was arrested in Peachtree City, Georgia, on a charge of DUI. The police suspected she was under the influence of marijuana. It was around 4:00 a.m. that the police received a 911 call of a driver who had fallen asleep behind the wheel on Highway 74. Police located Haddish, driving the vehicle described to the 911 operator as she was attempting to pull into the driveway of a residence in an Atlanta suburb.

She was booked at Fayette County Jail and later released the same day on a $1,666 bond.

At the time, Haddish was in the area to take part in filming for Haunted Mansion. In addition to this, police added to the case and told PEOPLE, “Subsequent investigation led to Ms. Tiffany Haddish being arrested for Driving Under the Influence.” She further stated, “She was transported to the Fayette County Jail without incident.” As per TMZ, she is due in court for the case related to the arrest on Dec 4. More details about the case will be disclosed once the date draws close.
