Tom Holland is just making sure to remind everyone that he got engaged to Zendaya earlier this year.
In a recent incident that’s making rounds on the internet, the Spider-Man: No Way Home star was found speaking on a panel to a journalist who erroneously marked the Dune actress as his ‘girlfriend’, per E! News. Talking about a recent event that the journalist experienced, he said, “I brought my daughter, and she got to meet your girlfriend…So, I was father of the year.”
Jovially remarking on the mistake made by the reporter, Holland swiftly corrected, “Fiancée.”
The prompt response by the Uncharted actor, which melted his fans’ hearts, was quite expected considering the duo had been in a public relationship since 2021.
As noted by Buzzfeed, a cohort of fans pointed out this adorable moment between the two, drawing attention to the sweet love story of Holland and Zendaya. While one of the Reddit users wrote, “Corrected him with swiftness, okay Tom”, another quipped, “He said ‘don’t forget I locked that down. She’s mine forever.”
Echoing the feelings of love and support, one user wrote, “The respect and love they have for each other is everything, I’m rooting for them!”
According to E! News, Holland’s dad, Dominic Holland, shared that his son put a lot of thought into his proposal, which happened in 2024.
Writing in a Patreon post in January, Dominic shared, “He had purchased a ring. He had spoken with her father and gained permission to propose to his daughter. Tom had everything planned out… When, where, how, what to say, what to wear.”

Holland’s meticulousness towards the love of his life is undoubtedly reciprocated. In January, while attending the 2025 Golden Globes awards, Zendaya styled her attire with the massive five-carat diamond on You-Know-Which finger. Although the couple is head over heels for each other, they are not in a hurry to get married, according to Zendaya’s stylist, Law Roach. As per the reports, they haven’t even started wedding planning as of yet.
Speaking to E! News, Roach said, “The process hasn’t even started yet. Zendaya is working on so many movies. She’s now filming the next iteration of Dune, so she’s away doing that. It’s so many movies, so we have time. We have a lot of time.”
Acknowledging their love for each other, the actress’s longtime stylist continued to say, “[They] really love each other and have for a really long time. The fact that the world has been able to share in that love story, I think it’s really beautiful.”
In April 2025, Roach had already confirmed the couple’s thoughts about their nuptials. He said, “I’m resting up for 2026.”
Although the wedding bells sound far away from 2025, it seems that the sartorial details have already been laid out. According to E! News, there may be multiple wedding dresses, instead of one, for the Euphoria star, including one for her vows, reception, and other wedding activities.
But if the wedding is the talk of the town, the town may not be there to talk about it at the venue.
Speaking to Complex’s Please Explain, the Project Runway judge revealed on their May episode that Zendaya and Tom are “trying to be as private as possible.” The judge said, “There won’t be a Vogue spread, or there won’t be pictures of the wedding, and the people she will invite will be really respectful of their privacy, so it will be a really beautiful dress that no one gets to see.”
