The NFL player and the ‘Karma’ singer are unbothered about external opinions on their relationship.

On Friday, during a Chiefs press conference acquired by People Magazine, Travis Kelce answered a few queries by reporters on his rising fame and his blooming relationship with Taylor Swift, frequently making headlines. When a reporter specifically asked Kelce if he and the pop singer have discussed their relationship amidst the staunch public eye, the player replied in the positive.

The 34-year-old NFL player revealed that they have indeed “talked about” managing privacy. He said, “As long as we’re happy, we can’t listen to anything that’s outside noise,” adding, “That’s all that matters.” Kelce continued by saying that he is not blind to the inherent upshoot of his fame over the past year. He referred to the infamous “Kelce Bowl” of 2023 where a match between his team, the Chiefs, and his brother Jason’s team, the Philadelphia Eagles, ended in the former’s victory.

Referring to the match, Kelce said, “I think the Super Bowl helped that, and obviously how I live my off-field life, definitely helps out.”  This brother-on-brother NFL match dropped a Saturday Night Live hosting gig on Lelce’s lap, and his mother, Donna Kelce, became a beloved personality by NFL fans at the time. Adding the 12-time Grammy winner to the list, the Kelce family has garnered a fresh set of Swiftie lovers to their fandom. Kelce stated on Friday, “I brought this upon myself, and I do enjoy having fun with it all, and the biggest thing is making sure my focus is right here in this building.”

Speaking of the outside noise and unsolicited criticisms, Kelce pointed out that it’s challenging “dealing with everyone else’s perspective of things” as he gets criticism for having a very public romance during a busy NFL season. He continues, “You hear the media throughout the year if we’re not having success, you know, maybe throw it out there that I wasn’t focused or that the team isn’t focused on certain things, and if you’re in this building, you know exactly what’s going on,” adding, “So, you gotta compartmentalize what you’re hearing and make sure that you’re staying on task, and giving everybody in the building and on that team the right perception.”

The Midnight album singer and Kelce’s relationship has taken up a storm in the past year. Their love life first caught the air last September when Swift attended her first Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium. She’s been a regular supporter of the NFL star throughout the season and hangs out with his mother Donna as they cheer him on.
