On August 8, K-pop girl group TWICE released the opening trailer for the group’s upcoming 11th mini-album BETWEEN 1&2.
The release of the trailer has kick-started the countdown to the group’s comeback. So far, in 2022, TWICE hasn’t worked on any Korean musical projects as a group. The group released its fourth full-length Japanese album, Celebrate, on the occasion of TWICE’s fifth Japanese debut anniversary. 2022 also witnessed the solo debut of TWICE’s oldest member Nayeon. The leader of the group, Jihyo, also released two solo dramas OST this year.
The opening trailer for BETWEEN 1&2 is 53 second-long clip that starts off with the question, “Who are we?” The nine membered girl group is divided into three distinct units in the clip – Pathfinder (Nayeon, Joungyeon, and Dahyun), Archive (Sana, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung), and Cryptography (Momo, Mina, and Tzuyu). The group appears to be engaged in serious spying in a high-tech bunker filled with devices, weapons, and one adorable blue teddy bear.
On August 5, TWICE revealed the comeback calendar mentioning the important dates ONCEs (TWICE’s fandom) should look forward to. Fans have already crossed out the first date with the trailer release. Next up, on August 17 and 18, the group is supposed to release Concept Photos #1 and #2, respectively. On August 19, fans will get to hear the snippets of two b-sides from the album – Queen Of Hearts and Brave, followed by the album sneak peek on August 23.
The first music video teaser for the title track of the album is set to drop on August 24, followed by the second one on August 25. The music video and the album will be released on August 26 at 1 PM KST. On the same day, TWICE will be performing their new track live on MTV Fresh Out Live.

BETWEEN 1&2 is dubbed as one of the most special albums by TWICE, according to the fans, as it will be the girl group’s first comeback after all nine members renewed their contract with JYP Entertainment last month, shutting down all the disbandment rumors and questions regarding TWICE’s future.
BETWEEN 1&2 consists of seven tracks, including songs written by a few of the members – Talk That Talk (title track), Queen of Hearts, Basics (written by Chaeyoung), Trouble (Jihyo is one of the credited writers on the song), Brave, Gone (written by Dahyun), and When We Were Kids (written by Dahyun).
TWICE is a South Korean girl group under JYP Entertainment. The group was formed via the 2015 survival show Sixteen. TWICE debuted in October 2015 with the mini-album The Story Begins.
The group’s first comeback turned out to be a breakthrough hit. The 2016 single Cheer Up by TWICE was a massive hit domestically. The song became the best-performing single of the year and charted at number 1 on Gaon Digital Chart. It also won Song of the Year at the Melon Music Awards and Mnet Asian Music Awards.

With the release of their debut studio album Twicetagram and its lead single Likey in 2017, Twice became the first female Korean act to concurrently top Billboard’s World Albums and World Digital Song Sales charts. Twice became the third female Korean act to chart in the Canadian Hot 100 with the release of their single Feel Special in 2019.
As part of a collaboration with JYP Entertainment, the group signed with Republic Records for American promotions, and their songs More & More, Eyes Wide Open, Taste of Love, and Formula of Love: O+T=<3 have all reached the US Billboard 200 chart. They entered the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart with their first official English-language single, The Feels, which peaked at the 83rd and 80th spots on the charts, respectively.
