Is Upload Season 3 renewed? Read on to find out.
Afterlife has been a very subjective concept since the time humans started to understand death. But no one has ever thought of it being something like a virtual world with in-app purchases, backups, and downloads, all available in exchange for some money. This out-of-the-world possibility of an afterlife has been explored and brought to our screens by Prime Video through their sci-fi comedy series, Upload.
The series follows Nathan and his lavish afterlife which is solely capitalistic in nature. Two seasons of the series have been on-air and since then the fans have been speculating about the possibility of a third season. So here’s everything we know about Upload Season 3.
Upload Season 3 Renewal Status
Earlier this month, Upload Season 3 was officially renewed by Prime Video. A tweet from the official Twitter handle of Upload has confirmed the series’ renewal of Upload Season 3, two months after the second season wrapped up airing.

Upload Season 3 Release Date
Though the renewal of Upload Season 3 has been finally confirmed, neither a specific release date nor an approximate window has been announced. However, we expect it to hit the screens sometime in the first or second quarter of the year 2023 based on its recent renewal and the fact that the whole process of pre and post-production is bound to take at least that much time, especially with the kind of effects the said series requires.
Upload Season 3 Trailer
Although the series has been renewed for the third season, there has been no announcement regarding a teaser or trailer. Moreover, it’s too early to ask for one since a teaser or trailer is usually released somewhere near the release date. Till it comes out, check out the trailer for the second season in case you missed it:
Upload Season 3 Plot
*Spoilers Ahead*
Season 2 ended with some really shocking revelations. Ingrid is seen obsessed over having a real baby with Ethan and when her plan seemed to be crumbling, she snapped and revealed that she had been regenerating Nathan’s body in case Downloads become successful someday and she wasn’t really dead but using a hug suit instead to pretend that she was uploaded. Realizing he doesn’t owe her anything, Nathan downloads himself into a clone and for the first time, Nathan and Nora physically touched each other.
But soon we see Nathan getting a nosebleed and concluding he might be dying. The screen turns black as soon as the viewers get to try and figure out what might happen to Nathan and thus, the second season ended on a huge cliffhanger.
Upload Season 3 is expected to pick up right where the second season ended and most probably will answer all the doubts, questions, and cliffhangers.
How many episodes will be there in Upload Season 3?
Currently, there has been no confirmation on the number of episodes in the upcoming season, however, we expect it to have somewhere between 7 and 10 episodes in total. Still, any confirmation can only be made when the creators or the distributors reveal any information through their statements.
Upload Season 3 Cast
The main cast is expected to be back for Upload Season 3. However, this is just a prediction until a final list of the cast is released:
- Robbie Amell as Nathan Brown, a computer programmer who is uploaded to the digital afterlife Lakeview after he dies in a car crash. (We might see him in flashbacks or might find out what exactly happened to him)
- Andy Allo as Nora Antony. She is a living woman who is Nathan’s handler or angel in his afterlife.
- Allegra Edwards as Ingrid Kannerman. She is Nathan’s crazy-rich girlfriend who pays for his afterlife.
- Zainab Johnson as Aleesha. She is Nora’s coworker who is Luke’s handler.
- Kevin Bigley as Luke. He is a resident of Lake View who is friends with Nathan and knows a lot of cheat codes in Lake View
- Josh Banday as Ivan. He is Nora’s coworker.
Will there be a fourth Season for Upload?
There has been no announcement regarding any more seasons of Upload. Any further announcements are expected to be based on how the third season of the series will perform and it is too soon to comment on that.
