When is Virgin River Season 5 releasing on Netflix?

Unfortunately, the release date of Virgin River Season 5 is currently unknown, but that is probably because the new season is still in its production stage, which will take time to complete in a proper manner and deliver the best content for the fans. The filming for the fifth season began on July 18 and is scheduled to conclude on November 10, 2022. So, Virgin River Season 5 won’t be released on Netflix in October 2022 as the cast and crew are still hard at work filming the new episodes.

If we go back to the release of Season 4, we can see that filming was completed in December 2021, and the season was released in July. Taking this into account, as well as the current development of Season 5, the next episode is expected to be released in the summer of 2023. This will be confirmed once the production starts to wrap up on time and promotion of the series begins once again.

Moreover, Virgin River’s showrunner Patrick Sean Smith, who helmed the 2019 Netflix anthology series Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings, tells Netflix Tudum: “I’m excited to be working with Netflix again, and I couldn’t be prouder to join the Virgin River family. Together with its stellar cast and amazing crew, we’ve got great things in store for our fans worldwide.”

Take a look at some newly released BTS pictures from the set shared on Instagram for the completion of 50 episodes, quoting, “Congrats to the cast and crew on the completion of 50 episodes of Virgin River!! … Also, thank you to our beloved fans because we couldn’t of done this without you!’ Take  a look at the post below:

Virgin River Season 5 Plotlines

Actress, Alexandra Breckenridge, who plays Melinda “Mel” Monroe, discussed how she believes this turn of events would affect Jack’s Season 5 plot. She stated to TV Line, “Being betrayed on such a massive scale has to come with anger and hurt. He invested himself emotionally and mentally and financially in having these babies. He was really committed. It’s going to be hard, I think, for Jack to let that go.”

The new showrunner, Patrick Sean Smith, appears to have a grand direction for the show, saying, “I think it’s bigger and better than any of the seasons we’ve done yet,” Ben Hollingsworth, who portrays Brady, told TV Line.

Further adding, “We’re doing some really ambitious stuff that you’ve never seen on Virgin River before. There’s a really big episode for Brady that’s gonna be a lot of fun for me to play. I imagine there’s gonna be some friction between Mike and Brady as it seems like Brie and Mike have become closer and closer. I would expect there’s gonna be some sort of reconciliation possibly between Jack and Brady now that he’s exonerated, but you’ll have to wait and see.”

Virgin River Season 4: A Quick Recap

Despite not knowing whether her baby belongs to her deceased husband, Mark or Jack, Mel begins Season Four with a sense of optimism. For years she yearned to be a mother, and her dream is one step closer to reality. While Jack is supportive and excited, the question of paternity continues to gnaw at him. Complicating matters is the arrival of a handsome new doctor who’s in the market to start a family of his own.

Hope is still healing from her car accident, and the lingering psychological effects of her brain injury will have profound consequences for both her and Doctor Brie; intent on proving the innocence of the man she loves, she unexpectedly finds herself in a closer relationship with Mike and one step closer to Calvin’s violent criminal web. Even as Preacher forges a new romantic connection, he can’t help but hold out hope for being reunited with Christopher and Paige.
