The anticipation of the fandom who watched the previous seasons is growing with each passing day to know how the story will unfold further, and it’s pretty fair to say that the wait does seem to be going on for a while! If you are one of those who want to be up-to-date about the recent developments of the show, then you have reached the right place! We at Web News Observer have compiled everything we currently know about the release date of Virgin River Season 5, which will definitely help you get ready for the upcoming episodes of this drama television series.

Virgin River Season 5: Has the new season really been delayed?

Virgin River Season 5: Why is the new season delayed?

If you recall, back in September 20, 2021, Netflix renewed the series for a 12-episode fourth and fifth season, and production wrapped on November 22, 2022. Since then, the exact release date for the new season has not been revealed, which makes the mind begin to wonder a little bit, particularly about why we have such a long wait in the first place given that the show’s production has already ended. The only explanation that seems right at the moment is that Netflix might be finding the perfect time for a show like this to come on the platform. As, it is not some massive special-effects spectacle like Stranger Things, The Witcher, or The Umbrella Academy

If we look at the schedule of the last two seasons, it has been around July 2021 and 2022. So if we have to speculate, the new episodes will premiere sometime around as early as July of 2023 at the regular time slot of 12:00 a.m. (PT) or 3:00 a.m. (ET), which is still a long way to go! We can just tell the fans to be patient and wait for some official confirmation. In order to receive updates on when the new episodes premiere on Netflix, interested viewers can also enable notifications. Additionally, the official Instagram handle of the show also confirmed the news among its followers, quoting, “That’s a WRAP on Season 5!” Take a look at the announcement below:

Virgin River Season 5: Potential Top Spoilers

According to TV Guide, On Jack and Mel’s reaction to the baby news, stating, “I think Mel feels, obviously, lied to and betrayed,” Breckendridge said. “I’m sure there’s an underlying sense of relief that she probably will never talk about with Jack. I think Jack is absolutely devastated because he really invested in these children. It’s crushing for him.” The second spoiler for Melissa and Nick’s involvement in Jack’s business, states, “It’s an interesting twist. Jack and Mel are such honest people that I’m surprised,” Breckenridge informed TV Guide. “I’m really curious to know if Nick knows that Melissa is a fentanyl kingpin. I don’t actually know that. Obviously, Nick has invested in this airstream glamping business that Jack is starting, so I think Melissa may become a part of that. How that ties into any danger for Jack and Mel, I don’t know!”

On Mel’s life in Virgin River without the clinic, “I don’t think she’s interested in mending any relationship with Cameron. I think she realizes that she has a high-risk pregnancy, and she’s not going to stay at the clinic, and Doc is declining. She’s really worried about the town having a medical facility, so she wants Cameron to stay for that reason alone,” the actress said. “I don’t know what [Mel’s life without the clinic] going to look like. I don’t know what Mel is going to do. She loves her job. She loves caring for people, and I imagine that stepping away from that is going to be very difficult for her.”

Virgin River Season 5: Has the new season really been delayed?

In an exclusive interview with Good Housekeeping, Annette also gave further details about how her character will drastically change going into season 5. According to the actress, the mayor of Virgin River will focus on her recovery as she gets back into her daily activities within the community. “Little by little [Hope’s] getting better,” she told us in November. “The producers want her to get back as much as she can to bring the Hope that we knew originally. So, I think that’s interesting, but she will be changed. I think it will have changed her for the better.” Further adding, “I think she is going to be more empathetic,” she revealed. “I mean, she’s still who she is … [In] season five, she’s still dealing with [her injury], but less so … By the end of season five, you’re going to see pretty much how she’s going to be.”

On the other hand, the show’s official Instagram posted a Zoom photo of the entire cast and crew together just days before season 4 aired on Netflix. During a table read for SEASON 5 can see seen together, quoting, “A snapshot of our amazing cast during a table read for SEASON 5. Yes, you heard that right folks….We have now started production on SEASON 5! Also, please meet our lovely new Showrunner for S5 @patrickseansmith (pictured here.) We can’t WAIT for you to see what we have in store. Don’t forget though, Season 4 is only 2 days away. See you soon!!” Take a look at the post below:
