Wednesday Season 3: When can we get a renewal update from Netflix?

Will this supernatural comedy-horror series expand further? Here is everything we know so far about Wednesday Season 3.

Over the last few years, major streaming platforms have started to greenlight many original series that have performed exceptionally well for multiple season orders at one time, which usually contains already renewed two to three seasons in their bags without worrying about the demand or future of the show for a few years.

One of them in recent times has been the one and only Netflix’s most popular original series, “Wednesday.”

The first season premiered back in November 2022, and right now it holds the record for most hours viewed in a week for an English-language Netflix series with a total of 341.2 million hours watched in its first week of release, amounting to more than 50 million households and passing prior record holder Stranger Things 4‘s 335.01 million hours.

Wednesday Season 3: When can we get a renewal update from Netflix?

After such an amazing reception from across the globe, the fandom is curious to know if the third season will also be renewed earlier than everyone has been expecting. If you recall, a few months after the worldwide premiere of the first season, Netflix was quick to greenlight the second season in January 2023. So, the fans’ prediction about the early third season’s renewal doesn’t seem too far-fetched.

On the other hand, it’s not surprising that the network hasn’t announced the third season because, as you may have observed, renewals sometimes happen a month or two after the premiere of the ongoing season, if not sooner. This means that there is still plenty of time for such a statement as the filming of the second season hasn’t even begun yet, which clears up any doubts about the delay.

It will surely be approved once the second season release date draws close to its debut on Netflix, which is expected to premiere early to mid-2024, and the network is able to assess its future potential in terms of storyline, viewership, investment, production costs, and other elements that are crucial to understanding the renewal. We can anticipate it having a similar time frame if the production moves along efficiently.

We’ll just have to wait and see what happens next! There are chances that Netflix might renew it next year once the second season is available on Netflix if they don’t want to cause unnecessary delays and time gaps that can lead to viewers losing interest, which no one wants to happen this early on. In the meantime, viewers may turn on notifications to get updates on when the new season makes its debut on the platform.

On the other hand, since we haven’t yet gotten any confirmed information, it’s far too early to speculate about the Wednesday, Season 3 plotlines, especially since the second one hasn’t even started production.

If the creators take their time to renew it, they should lay out the theme and explore the dynamics for the show’s possible future if it is approved on schedule. Right now, we won’t know for sure until later which path the creators intend for this franchise to follow. So, anytime from this point on, Of course, this is just speculation, and we’ll have to wait for some time for any prominent network like Netflix to confirm these details in the near future!
