When Calls the Heart Season 10: What can the fans expect in the next season?
When Calls the Heart’s Season 10 storylines have not yet been officially announced, but we can anticipate a few story arcs because it will undoubtedly take up where season 9 left off. If you recall, the final episode, “Rock, A Bye, Baby,” showcased Elizabeth’s worries about her relationship with Lucas, and Bill helps Gowen through the fallout of the mine explosion. Later, in the final episode, we see that Rosemary and Lee receive some news.
“I hope the Hearties are feeling as excited as we are to dive into these long-anticipated events. But it was important to let Elizabeth take her time with Lucas and for Rosemary and Lee to become contented with their lives together before the baby surprise,” Stewart said last May, adding that the writers hoped that by season’s end they “earned” Lucas’ proposal.
“Elizabeth is in a different place than she was with Jack,” Stewart noted. Further adding, “The experiences of widowhood and motherhood have deepened her. I don’t think she needs or even desires to be swept off her feet in quite that once-in-a-lifetime way she was with Jack. Including Little Jack in the proposal is a signal that her top priority now is as a mother.”
Erin Krakow, series star and executive producer also hinted, “This season is full of beautiful moments and exciting twists and turns. I can’t wait for the Hearties to see what we’ve created for them. And I’m so thrilled, proud, and grateful to Hallmark that the show has been renewed for Season 11. We have so many more stories to tell. With our amazing cast, crew, and brilliant writers, there will be no shortage of romance and new adventures for the residents of Hope Valley. Having the Hearties continue this journey with us has meant the world and we are thrilled to share what’s in store these next two seasons.”
Co-executive producer and writer Elizabeth Stewart told Entertainment Tonight, “All I can say is that the course of true love never did run smoothly.” This suggests that the two may be in for a challenging journey. Regarding the other prominent couple currently on the show, she believes Rosemary will be equally “in charge” of her pregnancy as she is of her daily life, “which of course means she’s in for some shock and surprise.” She also told ET that, in spite of Henry’s past misdeeds, she thinks “Henry will continue on his path towards redemption and forgiveness.”
The main cast expected to return includes Erin Krakow as Elizabeth Thornton, Kevin McGarry as Nathan Grant, Chris McNally as Lucas Bouchard, Jack Wagner as Bill Avery, Pascale Hutton as Rosemary Coulter, Kavan Smith as Leland Coulter, Martin Cummins as Henry Gowen, Andrea Brooks as Faith Carter, Amanda Wong as Mei Suo, and Chris Cope as Geoffrey Lewis. Other recurring cast members will also reprise their roles, which will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
