“Most of us have blond hair, blue eyes. It was almost like this perfect Aryan Clan.”

Similar or same physical characteristics are not something surprising in the families. Siblings are most likely to have some similar features, however, things seem to be complicated when a bunch of random strangers has them and not only the characteristics but half the DNA. And no, it’s not some sci-fi trope but a true crime. Netflix’s upcoming true drama-documentary follows a group of strangers who, with the help of an online ancestry test, found out that they are half-siblings and the mystery behind is literally sickening.

Here’s everything we know about the upcoming true-crime documentary, Our Father:

When will Our Father be coming on Netflix?

Our Father is all set to release on Netflix on May 11, 2022.

Our Father Trailer

Netflix released the trailer of Our Father and it clearly leaves out a lot of questions unanswered which will urge people to watch the documentary completely once it hits the streaming platform. The trailer is narrated by one of Dr. Cline’s ‘children’ who he fathered by inseminating one of his clients with his own sperm. And this is not just one case.

As she took an at-home DNA test, she found a list of connected people and all those people connected to Dr. Cline, hence, establishing the fact that he fathered a lot of children in the decades of the 70s and 80s without the knowledge of his patients. The ‘children’ go on a venture in order to get Dr. Cline accountable for his actions.

What is Our Father all about?

According to Netflix:

Jacoba Ballard was an only child, conceived via donor sperm, who always dreamed of having a brother or sister. An at-home DNA test led her to the discovery of not one but seven half-siblings – a number that defied best practices in fertility medicine. As the group set out to learn more about their curious family tree, they soon discovered the sickening truth: Their parents’ fertility doctor had been inseminating his patients with his own sperm – without their knowledge or consent. As Ballard and her newfound siblings realized they’ve barely begun to untangle his dark web of deceit, their pursuit of justice lies at the heart of this profoundly unsettling story about an unimaginable breach of trust.

And in our words, it is downright insane. A fertility specialist replaces donor sperm with his sperm during the insemination process of countless couples without their knowledge or consent and his sickening shenanigans didn’t come out to light till decades later when one of his kids took an ancestry test and in a click, found not one but seven half-siblings.

And what’s even worse? The US law enforcers don’t have appropriate charges to put up against so the man still roams free. The documentary shows the path the half-siblings walked on in order to get the doctor charged for his assaults against those women and the horror he made them go through.
