Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, released last year, was directed by Ryan Coogler. Since all Marvel movies have been later a part of an OTT platform, the burning question is whether Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be a part of any OTT platform, presumably Netflix, and if yes, when?
For a lot of people, especially the fans of Chadwick Boseman, Black Panther 2 will never be the same. Be that as it may, it is undoubtedly one of the best Marvel movies, worth watching. Although the sequel echoes the untimely death of Chadwick Boseman, the actors have done a commendable job in making sure the movie is acclaimed. Not only that, but the movie has also honored the actor by showcasing the death of King T’Challa.
For those unversed, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever focuses upon the aftermath of T’Challa’s death, involving Queen Ramonda, Shuri, M’Baku, Okoye, and the Dora Milaje who are now struggling to protect their nation. With the death of King T‘Challa, the question that echoes is who will take over the mantle of Black Panther and will lead their nation.
According to Mashable’s Kristy Pucho, Black Panther not only deals with the classic and idiosyncratic adventurous plot associated with Marvel, but it also deals with the ways of coping with grief. Puchko writes, “What do we owe to those we’ve lost? Is their legacy our responsibility? Or are we responsible for our own legacies? Might their memory bolster us or blind us to what our futures could be without them?”
In addition, Black Panther 2 marks a paradigmatic shift from an adventure-comedy to a more serious and elevated one which Puchko mentions to be “bringing a maturity to the pesky little sister without entirely losing her bear-poking edge.”
With the support of Kaia and Everett Ross, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever should not be missed.
Will Black Panther: Wakanda Forever arrive on Netflix?
At the time of writing, there’s no official word as to when will Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hit the Netflix library. But at some point, it will surely head into some OTT platform. But will that be Netflix? Initially, Marvel movies did a stream on Netflix, but that has remained the case now. A plethora of Marvel movies like Doctor Stranger in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder head to Disney+, so we expect Black Panther 2 to also follow suit. Plus, it makes sense for Marvel to head Disney since the latter owns the former.
Be that as it may, it doesn’t altogether discard the possibility of Black Panther 2 heading to Netflix. A lot of previously released Marvel movies have headed to Netflix. So, if you’re a Netflix subscriber don’t completely lose hope on Black Panther 2.
The official synopsis of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever reads:
“The people of Wakanda fight to protect their home from intervening world powers as they mourn the death of King T’Challa.”
