Will Smith needs to add one more skill to his resume: leaving stinky air biscuits!

Filmmaker Barry Sonnenfeld, 71, who directed Men in Black, had an interesting titbit from the sets which includes a confined space and Smith leaving some nasty stink bombs. Sonnenfeld’s new book Best Possible Place, Worst Possible Time will be coming out soon, and his publisher teased that the book contained “baffling, often enlightening, and funny stories from his work sets,” per The Hollywood Reporter.

When the 71-year-old director appeared on a new episode of the SiriusXM podcast Let’s Talk Off Camerahe told Kelly Ripa about the incident on the Men in Black sets with Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. He explained the setup of the area first, saying that the actors had to enter a normal car that would transform into a more advanced version. They had to climb up the ladder, enter the car, and stay there till the shot was complete. Additionally, the space had to be locked for the actors to avoid falling out.

Once that was taken care of, Sonnenfeld said, recalling, “I hear Will Smith go, ‘Oh, Jesus, so sorry. Tommy, so sorry. Baz, get the ladder.’ And you hear Tommy saying, ‘That’s fine, Will. No worries, Will. Don’t worry, Will.'” Smith seemed embarrassed from farting because he managed to stink up the confined space, where his co-star was also locked up.

Everything was a frenzy from then on, as the crew rushed with the ladder to get the actors down, and they had to be “evacuated from the stage for about three hours, and that’s incredible.” However, Sonnenfeld is quick to praise the ‘I Am Legend’ actor’s personality, saying, “He’s a lovely guy, just he farts. Some do, some don’t.”

Sonnenfield’s association with the Men In Black franchise stretched to encompass the sequels 2002’s “Men in Black II” and 2012’s “Men in Black 3.” However, the successors could not reach the splendor of the 1997 classic.
