Jaden and Willow ‘feel bad’ for their dad
A source close to the siblings revealed to Entertainment Tonight that the duo “feel bad for their dad with all the recent headlines about their parents.” According to the source, “They know he has been going through a lot lately and this isn’t helping.” The source expressed their wish for some of their family’s private matters to remain just that – private. Moreover, the source mentioned that Trey Smith, Will Smith’s son with his ex-wife Sheree Zampino, shares the same sentiment.
In terms of Will, the actor is reportedly “trying to stay busy and has been hanging out with his good friends and his kids.” The source added, “He’s trying not to let any outside noise impact him. Will loves Jada and feels like he has always had her back and always will. He has been trying to be supportive, while also taking care of himself.”
Jada and Will have been living separate lives for 7 years
Jada’s book tour for ‘Worthy,’ released on October 17, kicked off last week with an exclusive interview with Hoda Kotb. During the conversation, she disclosed that she and Will have been leading separate lives for almost seven years. “I think by the time we got to 2016 we were just exhausted with trying,” the actress stated during the primetime special on October 13.
“I think we were both kind of just still stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be. I made a promise that there will never be a reason for us to get a divorce. We will work through whatever,” she continued. “And I just haven’t been able to break that promise.”

Will Smith’s response to Jada’s revelations
Jada shared with People that she and the Oscar winner have been engaged in “some really heavy-duty work together.” She explained to the outlet, “We just got deep love for each other, and we are going to figure out what that looks like for us,” emphasizing that they are “still figuring it out.”
The ‘Bad Boys’ star broke his silence and responded to her revelations in an email to the New York Times. He stated that her confessions “kind of woke [him] up” and acknowledged that his wife was more “resilient, clever, and compassionate than [he’d] understood.” According to the Times article published on Saturday, Smith reflected, “When you’ve been with someone for more than half of your life, a sort of emotional blindness sets in. And you can all too easily lose your sensitivity to their hidden nuances and subtle beauties.”
