Yellowjackets Season 2: When will it release on Showtime?
We know that the fandom has been very patient, and we respect that dedication, but sadly, the new season will not return on Showtime until February 2023. Fortunately, you’ll only have to wait a month!
If you recall, the series was renewed for a second season back in December 2021, and now it has been confirmed to drop on Friday, March 24, 2023, for Showtime On Demand subscribers. On the other hand, for Showtime cable subscribers the series will air on Sunday, March 26, 2023, before making its on-air debut at the same time slot of 9 p.m. ET/PT. The official Twitter handle of the show also urges the followers to stream the episodes, quoting, “You won’t be hungry much longer. March 24, 2023. #Yellowjackets” Take a look at the official post below:

Yellowjackets Season 2: What to expect?
There is currently little information available about the second season’s content. Showtime’s President of Entertainment, Gary Levine, stated in the new season announcement that the writer’s room for the second season had not yet met but would do so in January 2022. He hinted that showrunners Ashley Lyle, Bart Nickerson, and Jonathan Lisco may have some loose ideas that have yet to be fleshed out and shared with him. He stated that there would be some character surprises, that there are many unanswered questions about who survived and what exactly happened in the woods, and that some characters would be introduced to viewers.
According to recent reports, the series is told in both the present (2021) and past (1996), before the plane crash, and then right after. It charts in parallel how the survivors are still managing their trauma – in plenty of unhealthy ways – in the 25 years since the terrible event, and in the flashbacks, what they had to do to survive in the immediate aftermath of the crash. On the other hand, Steven Krueger, who plays Coach Ben in Yellowjackets, opens up to TV Insider that Season Two is a “whole new ballgame.”
Further adding, “We are going into the wintertime when the season ends with that first snowfall. This season will cover the winter months,” he said, “It’s going to get dire out there with little food and the challenge of staying warm and alive. A good general overall birds’ eye view of the second season is it feels like producers loved we were the crazy show on TV and want to take that and double down. If you thought Season 1 was crazy, just buckle your seatbelts for Season 2. It doesn’t let up.”
Yellowjackets follow a team of high school girl soccer players who become the unlucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness which have the original cast that includes Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, and Lewis, season 2 will feature Wood, Lauren Ambrose, and Simone Kessell, along with Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Steven Krueger, Warren Kole, and Kevin Alves.
Yellowjackets was created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson. Drew Comins of Creative Engine also serves as executive producer, and Karyn Kusama directed the pilot episode of the season. It is produced by studio Entertainment One (eOne).
