Another beloved series by viewers will end its run on Netflix. This summer, Young & Hungry, a comedy series from Freeform, will stop streaming on Netflix.

Young & Hungry premiered in 2014, with Emily Osment playing the role of a struggling young chef, Gabi Diamond. Gabi believes that she ruined her big break by sleeping with the tech millionaire when she gets the incredible opportunity to work as his personal chef.

The cable network saw solid ratings for the show, which ran for five seasons and more than 70 episodes before being abruptly canceled in July 2018. The anticipated series finale movie was ultimately canceled, leaving us all on a cliffhanger. Osment announced the cancellation of the movie herself via a tweet that read, “From me and obvious future TV hubby [Jonathan Sadowski], we love you and we’re sorry.”

When will Youg & Hungry leave Netflix?

The show only airs on Netflix in the United States as a result of the fact that the title has only ever been licensed there, effectively ruling out the chance of it ever being permitted elsewhere.

The comedic series, created by David Holden, stars Emily Osment and Jonathan Sadowski. It lasted for five seasons before being abruptly canceled, sparking a campaign to convince Netflix to save it.

The first season of the show was added to Netflix in the US in May 2015, and new seasons were added every year after that. Season 5, the last season, which was divided into two halves, debuted on Netflix in June 2017. After about five years, the show’s run on Netflix is coming to an end.

The series is scheduled to leave Netflix on August 24 as part of the August 2022 removals, with your last day to watch Young & Hungry on Netflix being August 23.

Where else can you watch Young & Hungry?

The show currently isn’t available anywhere for streaming, and no other plans of it being acquired by any other OTT have been announced yet. But fans can still buy individual episodes and seasons to watch on services like Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and others.

Since Melissa & Joey and Baby Daddy, two other popular ABC Family/Freeform comedies, are also available on Hulu, it is likely that Young & Hungry will too make its way to the platform.

However, because CBS also holds the distribution rights, it is possible that the show might stream on platforms like Paramount+ or CW Seed. Which streamer will be awarded the entertaining and underappreciated comedy remains to be seen.
