Young Sheldon Season 7 Release Date: When will it premiere on CBS?
If you recall, back in March 2021, CBS renewed the series through to a seventh season. Now, after years of making six amazing seasons, the end of the road has finally arrived at Young Sheldon, as the seventh season, which will be the final one, is scheduled to premiere on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 8 to 8:30 PM on CBS and later be available to stream on Paramount Plus.
Moreover, on November 16, 2023, CBS also announced that the series would end with a one-hour series finale scheduled to air on Thursday, May 16, 2024.

Young Sheldon Season 7: What to expect?
Young Sheldon centers on Sheldon Cooper (Iain Armitage), a once-in-a-generation mind capable of advanced mathematics and science, which isn’t always helpful in a land where church and football are king. And while the vulnerable, gifted, and somewhat naïve Sheldon deals with the world, his very normal family must find a way to deal with him.
Though the plot has been kept under wraps, the network has confirmed that the finale will bring the journey of the Sheldon Cooper character to an end after 14 years across two series. Season 7 of the show’s story is coming to a natural end, reaching events that were initially referenced in the mothership series, The Big Bang Theory, where Jim Parsons played the adult Sheldon.
Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, stated:
“As a prequel to one of the biggest comedies, Young Sheldon proved lightning can strike twice.” Further adding, “It set itself apart with a remarkable cast that felt like a family from the first moment we saw them on screen and brought characters to life with unique heartfelt stories that drew audiences in from the start.”
“We extend a sincere thank you to executive producers Chuck Lorre, Steve Molaro, and Steve Holland and the entire writing and producing teams for six wonderful seasons,” Reisenbach added. “We look forward to seeing their final season unfold and giving it a proper sendoff with the best episodes yet for their fans to enjoy.”
“Being able to tell the origin of Sheldon Cooper, and expanding the story to include the entire Cooper family has been a wonderful experience,” said executive producers Holland, Molaro, and Lorre. Further stating, “We are grateful to our fans for embracing this chapter of the Coopers these past six seasons, and on behalf of the entire Young Sheldon family, we’re excited to share this final season with you.”
On the other hand, The Big Bang Theory spinoff will consist of 14 episodes with an average runtime of 18 to 21 minutes. Apart from Iain Armitage, the series also stars Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Annie Potts, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord, and Parsons (as the voice of Sheldon). Lorre, Molaro, Holland, Nick Bakay, Parsons, and Todd Spiewak serve as executive producers. Young Sheldon is produced by Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
Young Sheldon Season 7 Potential Spoilers
The seventh season is expected to follow the daily life of 14-year-old college student Sheldon in 1994–95. We would like to emphasize if the series is going to showcase the year 1995, then there’s a major possibility that Sheldon will go to Dixie Trek to meet Wil Wheaton. Moreover, it’s currently unknown if we will see Sheldon’s junior year in college or Georgie being on his own.
There are other plotlines that aren’t confirmed either, as it is currently unknown whether George Sr. will die this season or not.
However, if we assume that the time jump between seasons stays the same, then this will be the one where Sheldon is 14 years old, and since it was the latest season renewed, they’ll very likely kill off George Sr. at some point in the season as it has been hinted by the creators previously.
Young Sheldon Season 7: Where to stream?
For home media, the sixth season was reportedly released on DVD and Blu-ray on September 5, 2023. The upcoming season, along with all six previous seasons, is currently available to stream on CBS, Paramount Plus, and FuboTV, which are ideal platforms for international viewers.
The series is also available to rent or buy on iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, Google Play, and Vudu, depending on the subscriber’s location, with membership plans which the users can choose from. We’d also like to point out that the network has not released any teaser or trailer for the finals season, as production is yet to commence.
The network will thus not be able to publish any promotional stuff, which means we will simply have to wait and speculate! On the other hand, if the readers want to receive updates on any changes and when the show premieres on the respective streaming platforms, they can also enable notifications on the respective platforms.
