Is the story of young Sheldon Lee Cooper coming to an end? Here is everything we know so far about Young Sheldon Season 7.
If you remember, there was an agreement that signifies an expanded order for the spinoff of The Big Bang Theory, which in February 2019 received a two-season renewal and has since aired the majority of its episodes from seasons 5 and 6, which will conclude sometime in mid-2023.
Though it is definite that after the premiere of the sixth season finale, the series will get another season, as in March 2021, CBS renewed the series through to a seventh season, which is expected to start airing sometime in the fall of 2023 by following the same footsteps of the previous seasons.
There is no doubt that questions about the possible end of this beloved series have begun to linger in the minds of the fandom. As they have been treated for more than six years! This will take time for the network to disclose any details this early on, as no future plans have also been acknowledged yet.
On the bright side, that’s not the end of the story, as there might be some confirmation!
Executive producer Steve Holland hinted about the potential end of the show in an exclusive interview with TVLine, quoting, “We’ve certainly started to talk about [season 7 being the end]… When you’re in the middle of a season, it’s such a grind that we haven’t had too many in-depth conversations. But now, as we’re getting to the end [of Season 6], we’ve started to talk about it more.”
Of course, there are many factors that will contribute to these decisions, which will also evaluate the overall reception and demand from the fans that have been able to pull in an amazing rating with an average of seven million US viewers on a weekly basis, which is quite amazing for any major television network like CBS to let go this soon.
On the other hand, if you have been up to date with the recent seasons, it does seem like the right time to say goodbye to these characters, as Sheldon Cooper is heading to graduate school soon, which means being more in Pasadena and away from a lot of his loved ones. Additionally, his father George’s death is imminent, which will radically alter the program in and of itself.
What the future holds for this coming-of-age sitcom television series will be revealed in the coming months, as this is just speculation at this point in time. Moreover, an update relating to renewal or cancellation is likely to be provided once the seventh season starts premiering on the CBS network.
In the meantime, we would suggest that viewers stream the sixth season, which will air its new episode after two weeks of break.
