The finale episode of Your Honor season 2 aired on Sunday, March 19th, 2023, and with it, it did quench the thirst of its viewers but it also left them wanting for more. In the wake of the latest season, fans were wondering whether the show will hit Showtime again or not. If you’re also a part of the coterie, then worry no more, because we’ve collected all the latest crumbs of information on Your Honor season 3.
Starring Bryan Cranston as Michael Desiato, who is a venerable New Orleans judge, the show underscores the role of the judge who chooses to protect his teenage son after he accidentally kills another teenager. The plotline goes topsy-turvy when Desiato realizes that the dead teenager was the son of a mob boss.
The second season began airing on Showtime on December 6, 2020, underscoring the life of Michael after he gets out of prison after the death of his son. The season emphasizes Michel working towards putting an end to the perilous New Orleans mob.
That being said, is Your Honor new tonight? The answer is no. As aforementioned, season 2 recently finished airing, so there’s no new episode of Your Honor scheduled to air anytime soon which leads to a pertinent question, “Will there be Season 3 of Your Honor?”. So, here’s everything we know about it.
Has Your Honor been officially renewed for a third season?
Unfortunately, we hate to break the bad news to you, but Your Honor will not be returning for a third season. While speaking to Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, Actor Cranston confirmed the news. According to TV Line, Cranston said, “I am [currently] preparing for the second and last season of Your Honor, which is a limited series that I did for Showtime. As they tell me, it got higher ratings than any other series they’ve ever had — and so, one more season of that.”
Although the news is disappointing for the fans of the series, we can all find solace in the fact that Showtime managed to air three seasons, more than they originally intended, considering that the show was originally meant for a limited series. The decision to air more than one season emerges out of the critical acclaim and the first season’s cliffhanger.
For those unversed, here’s the official synopsis of the show (courtesy of Showtime):
“A judge confronts his deepest convictions when his son is involved in a hit and run that embroils an organized crime family. He faces a series of impossible choices and discovers how far a father will go to save his son’s life.”
