Never has 29 looked so fine as it does on Zendaya.

On September 1, Monday, the Euphoria star stepped into her 29th year, celebrating the occasion by posting a throwback photo on Instagram of her little self riding a merry-go-round. The image was captioned with:

“Just coming on here to say how grateful I am for another year of life and for all of you for making it so beautiful. Thank you so so much for all of the love and warm wishes…as always, here’s to (the official last year of my twenties, literally with) 29”, and signed off with “🫶🏽Z.”

The comment section of the post was inundated with birthday wishes from Zendaya’s friends and family members. While Aquaman, Jason Momoa, wrote, “Happy birthday ❤️❤️❤️”, Dove Cameron affectionately remarked, “happy birthday angel.”

Interestingly, this is not the first time the Challenger‘s star has shared a throwback photo to commemorate her birthday. With 177 million followers, the 29-year-old actress shared a similar throwback shot of hers on Instagram last year to celebrate her birthday.

According to US Weekly, Zendaya’s career in the entertainment industry began with her TV role on Disney Channel’s Shake It Up, which aired from 2010 to 2013. She made her film debut in 2017, sharing screen with Tom Holland, her future fiancé, in Spider-Man: Homecoming. She continued to star in the consequent Spider-Man sequels and also earned fame with The Greatest Showman, Challengers, and the Dune sci-fi franchise.

She is also popularly known for starring in the HBO series Euphoria, for which she was also awarded the Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series, where she played the role of Rue Bennett, a teenage dr*g addict. According to the reports, she was the youngest winner in her category to receive an Emmy.

In addition to the professional frontier, the Dune actress is making strides in the romantic sphere of her life as well. Earlier this year, Zendaya and Holland got engaged with rumors initially taking root in the 2025 Golden Globe Awards when the actress walked the red carpet with a diamond ring in her left hand.

According to the reports, Holland had popped the question in 2024. According to US Weekly‘s source, Holland was inclined towards proposing during the holidays, calling it a “low-key way.” The source further added, “She (Zendaya) didn’t want anything over the top.”

Speaking about their relationship, the insider further shared the 29-year-old actor’s thoughts behind taking this major step. They said that Holland “wanted to propose because he feels he is at the right time in his life and feels ready to settle down. They had many conversations over the years, but there was never any pressure. Zendaya is giddy and excited. She knew it might have been coming out, but never put pressure on it.”

Be that as it may, when the couple will exactly exchange vows, that is still under wraps.

Speaking to E! News, Law Roach, Zendaya’s stylist, revealed that the wedding process hasn’t even begun yet. Citing Zendaya’s busy schedule, the stylist said in July, “She’s now filming the next iteration of Dune, so she’s away doing that. It’s so many movies, so we have time. We have a lot of time.”

The forthcoming season does seem promising for the actress, as she will be reprising her role as Rue Bennett in HBO’s Euphoria Season 3, according to PEOPLE. Additionally, the outlet reports that she will be starring in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, set to hit theaters on July 31, 2026, as well as Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, which is scheduled to release on July 17, 2026.

Tom Holland will also be sharing the screen with his fiancée.

Last month, coinciding with National Spider-Man Day, Sony gave Marvel fans a brief glimpse of Tom Holland’s new suit in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, according to Parade.

According to the news outlet, the fourth movie in the series begins where its prequel left off, with Holland’s character navigating the world with no memory of their previous existence.
