It seems that Taylor Swift’s sourdough bread has made a home in Zoë Kravitz’s heart.
On August 20, Zoë Kravitz appeared on BBC Radio 2’s The Scott Mills Breakfast Show with co-star Austin Butler from Caught Stealing. According to PEOPLE, the actress reiterated Swift’s culinary skills, praised by other pop stars as well.
Calling Swift’s kitchen skills “insane” during the interview, Kravitz said, “She does make very good sourdough bread.”
Furthermore, the Big Little Lies actress also revealed that she received the doughy delight from the 35-year-old Grammy winner “like a week ago.”
The actress’s appreciation of the bread sparked interest in Butler, who eagerly expressed, “I wanna try that sourdough.” Kravitz, catching the enthusiasm in his voice, reassured him by saying that Swift would love to deliver her breads to him for tasting.

While Butler was reassured and felt Swift’s sourdough treats were “generous”, Mills expressed his astonishment over the fact that such a mega star like Swift would send out baked treats to her friends. However, Kravitz emphasized that Swift’s gesture was more about their friendship, saying, “She’s a really good friend. She makes really good bread, and she shares it with her friends.”
Additionally, the Batman actress drew attention to the beautiful act of sending someone bread, remarking, “Imagine anyone sending you bread. It’s really just a beautiful (thing).”
Interestingly, what landed Kravitz on the Cruel Summer singer’s list of baked treat recipients in the first place was the pandemic.
In a conversation with GQ in November 2022, the actress said, “She was my pod. She was a very important part of being in London, just having a friend that I could see and that would make me home-cooked meals and dinner on my birthday.”
Additionally, their bond was also something that saved Kravitz from the L.A. inferno, during which she stayed at Swift’s place for two weeks. Sharing a hilarious anecdote on the American talk show Late Night with Seth Meyers, Kravitz talked about how her mother, Lisa Bonet’s pet snakes slithered into the pop star’s home, which caused a huge mayhem.
The mother-daughter duo contacted the house manager, who tore apart the banquette with a crowbar while trying to catch the snake. Adding to the damage done, the actress mentioned, “We’re ripping up the tile, we’re scratching the walls … [We] completely destroyed Taylor’s bathroom.”
Despite the damage, Swift had reportedly been chill. However, Kravitz did joke about it a week later, after appearing on Seth Meyers’ show, when she was asked by E! News whether she’s visited Swift’s house again. To which the actress replied sardonically, “Have I? No. But not because I wasn’t invited. Just because I haven’t been in L.A.”
Additionally, Kravitz was also a part of the inner circle to whom Swift had revealed the upcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl, before she officially announced it.
Stating that it’s just “no skips”, the High-Fidelity actress said, “I’ve heard bits of it. It’s fantastic.”

Evidently, Taylor Swift and Zoë Kravitz are so close-knit that neither fire nor snakes could rip them apart. So, it’s quite unsurprising that the Love Story singer would send sourdough bread to the latter. But fans are still wondering how this recent culinary indulgence began.
Swift’s recent spike in sourdough baking was revealed in boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast, in which she made her debut guest appearance.
In addition to revealing her latest album, the singer also talked about her hobbies that could be easily categorized as those of the 1700s, like sewing purses, baby blankets for Jason and his wife Kylie, painting, cooking, and her “very deep” love for baking sourdough bread.
But is this recent inclination towards baking pointing towards something extravagant?
A lot of fans drew parallels between Swift’s latest hobby and her potential debut performance at the Super Bowl Halftime show, owing to a series of coincidences. Firstly, the official mascot of the San Francisco 49ers is Sourdough Sam. Secondly, in the New Heights podcast, Taylor mentioned that her mind is filled with bread “60%” of the time. And this would be the 60th Super Bowl.
It seems that Taylor Swift’s culinary hobby may not be a hobby after all.
