IPL 2021: Kolkata gets one more blow, Krishna tests positive for COVID-19

The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has experienced several consecutive setbacks. Today, two more of their players have tested positive for COVID-19. After Tim Siefert, now Indian fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has also tested positive for COVID-19.

This is the fourth corona case from the KKR camp since the league started. Today is the second corona case of KKR.

On Friday, Krishna was selected in the Indian team for the World Test Championship and the Test series to be played on the tour of England. He has been selected as a standby in the team. However, now his departure to England will depend on passing the fitness test.

The spread of infection started with KKR.

Varun Chakraborty and Sandeep Warrier of KKR tested COVID positive before the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on 03 May. After this, the entire team had to go through a rigorous quarantine of six days.

On the day of the match, RCB expressed their desire not to play the game after two Corona issues in the opposition team and cancelled the game.

A KKR player found infected even before the tournament started

Even before the game began, the KKR camp was affected by Corona. their batsman Nitish Rana was found corona infected. However, Rana recovered before the game started and continued playing all the matches for his team this season.

Apart from Rana, Akshar Patel of Delhi Capitals was also found corona infected and isolated for 20 days.
