The third phase of the country’s vaccination campaign began on May 1. In this, vaccines are being given to all people above the age of 18 years.

The third phase has also started in 18 districts of Uttar Pradesh, but in the meantime, an order by the state government has made it difficult for the migrants.

The Government of Uttar Pradesh has issued an order to vaccinate only the state’s residents at the government vaccine centres.

Uttar Pradesh government issued this order.

The Director of the National Health Mission in Uttar Pradesh has issued orders to all District Collectors and Chief Medical Officers, saying that due to online registration in the third phase of the vaccination campaign, people from other states are getting vaccinated at the centres.

Due to this, the people of the state are not getting their full benefits. In such a situation, people in 18-44 should confirm their local state before applying the vaccine.

Proof of being a resident is being sought before applying the vaccine.

According to India Today, employees are being asked to prove being residents after arriving at the vaccination centres. In this, address proofs like an Aadhaar card, passport, driving license, ration card and voter ID card are being sought from the people. People who are not known to be residents are not being vaccinated. Due to this, a big problem has arisen in front of migrant labourers in getting vaccinated.

The government explained the reason behind issuing the order

The order issued by the mission director stated that the vaccine was being procured by the state government to apply vaccine to people in the age group of 18-44.

Similarly, the government has also announced free vaccine. In such a situation, the vaccine purchased by the state government will be applied only to the residents of the state.

People visiting all government vaccine centres will be asked for an identity card.
