What comes to your mind when we say Aishwarya Rai Bachchan? Kajra Re, Crazy Kiya Re, and whatnot. The ultimate beauty and a magnificent actress have been spreading her magic for decades in the industry, and till date she stays irreplaceable.
From Miss World to becoming Bollywood ‘s top actress, Ash has achieved all that on the basis of pure hard work. In her long film career, she had turned down many films, which later on proved to be blockbusters.
Today on the 48th birthday of the Goddess of Beauty, let’s take a look at all the blockbusters that the actress has turned down.
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
Karan Johar’s Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is counted among the evergreen films of Hindi cinema. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was the first choice for playing Tina, but she refused to be a part of this film. The character eventually was played by Rani Mukerji, and she earned much love from the audience for the same.
Ash had said that she was new at that time and did not want to play a side actress. Now after Aish’s refusal, Rani definitely got the benefit.
Veer Zaara
Directed by Yash Chopra, the film was released in 2004. Preity Zinta and Rani Mukerji played important roles in this film. Aishwarya was supposed to play the character of Shahrukh Khan’s lawyer i.e. Rani Mukerji in the film, but due to unknown reasons, she did not become a part of this film and then Rani got the role.
While the film won the National Award for Most Popular Film, another hit film was attached to Rani’s account.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa
This film is one of the greatest films of Vidya Balan’s career. Vidya played Avni in this thriller comedy, for which she was praised a lot by the audience.
Earlier this role was offered to Aish, but she did not want to do the haunted role. So, Aishwarya turned down the offer and Vidya had fun.
Let us tell you that the sequel of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ featuring Kartik Aaryan is going to come soon.
Munnabhai MBBS
The comedy-drama film ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, proved to be a huge loss for Aishwarya. Why, you ask? Actually, she had turned down this film as well.
Aish was offered the role of Dr. Suman in the film, but she turned it down and Gracy Singh played the role.
It is said that Aish rejected the film because Sanjay Dutt’s films were not doing well at that time, and were continuous flops.
Raja Hindustani
Aishwarya Rai was first approached for the film ‘Raja Hindustani’.
Aishwarya had said, “Many people believe that I have made my way to Bollywood through beauty pageants, but this has not happened to me. I had four film offers even before the beauty pageant. If I had not participated in Miss India, probably ‘Raja Hindustani’ would have been my first film.”
The film proved to be the biggest hit of Karisma Kapoor’s career.
Bajirao Mastani
If you have seen director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’, then you will be well aware of its story and character. Very few people know that Aishwarya got the offer of this film before Deepika Padukone.
Bhansali wanted to make this film with Aishwarya from the very beginning, but due to lack of hero, the film was hanging for a long time and finally Deepika was called Mastani of Bollywood instead of Aish.
