BLACKPINK’s album BORN PINK creates history by ranking at no.1 on Billboard 200 chart

The BLACKPINK members have done it again! The group has recorded the highest peak for its latest album BORN PINK. As per the recent Billboard charts that were released on September 25, 2022, the girl group’s second full-length album has grabbed the first-ever spot on the Billboard 200 chart. Talking about the weekly chart, it records the most popular albums in the US. The record has now made BLACKPINK the first-ever female K-pop artist in history to have charted their album in the number one position!

Talking about the BLACKPINK members, they are also the first female group to have ranked with their album at the number one position since 2008. It was also reported earlier that the South Korean girl group had sold 102,000 equivalent albums according to the latest charting week that ended on September 22, 2022.

UK album chart

The BLACKPINK members grabbed the first position on the UK official chart that was released on September 23, 2022. with their recent full-length album, BORN PINK. The group beat out prominent artists like Suede and Rina Sawayama in the process. Talking about BLACKPINK, the group’s earlier high ranking on the same chart was in the second position with their first full-length album, which was also titled The Album.

Hanteo record

On September 16 at 1 pm KST, the album BORN PINK became the very first by any female artist in the history of Hanteo to have sold over a million copies on the very first day. According to the latest reports, Hanteo has stated that the album sold a whopping total of 1,542,950 copies in the first week of its release, the timeline for which was between September 16 to 22, 2022. This makes the quartet the first-ever K-pop girl group to reach 1.5 million album sales within its first week.

Circle chart record

BLACKPINK’s recently released album BORN PINK has also broken the record for the highest first-week sales by any female artist in history, as per the Circle Chart data. The said data reported a whopping figure of 2,141,281 copies sold, which makes the album the first double million seller by a K-pop girl group.
