The nominations for the 2025 MTV VMA music awards were revealed recently, and the internet is buzzing about the same. Of course, many are cheering for their favorite artists who were nominated across various categories.

However, the ARMYs are not happy this time because they are upset over Jin, V, and J-Hope not receiving any nominations despite their successful releases.

BTS members snubbed by 2025 VMA Nominations

Many people noticed that V’s, J-Hope’s, and Jin’s names were absent from the recent VMA nominations. This left many disappointed, as they had high hopes for the BTS members to be nominated in categories like Best K-Pop or Best Choreography.

The only member from the group to be nominated is Jimin, who has secured a nomination for his song Who in the Best K-Pop category.

Of course, the ARMYs celebrated his nomination, but they also expressed their sadness about how other members were reportedly neglected. Many pointed towards industry politics and alleged that several less impactful songs made it to the list.

For instance, one angry fan wrote that the VMAs easily overlooked Jin and J-Hope unfairly. They called the awards popularity-driven rather than merit-based. Another netizen also questioned how J-Hope, a top-charting K-pop soloist with several popular singles, was left out of the Best K-Pop category.

Whereas a few others asked everyone to focus on supporting and voting for Jimin.

The category nominations

For the unversed, there is a crazy lineup for the Best K-Pop category feature at the VMAs. The nominees include Jennie’s Like Jennie, Jisoo’s Earthquake, Aespa’s Whiplash, Lisa featuring Doja Cat and Raye’s Born Again, Rosé’s Toxic Till the End, Stray Kids’ Chk Chk Boom, and Jimin’s Who.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK member Lisa’s song Born Again, co-starring Doja Cat and Raye, being nominated in the Best K-Pop category has also raised several questions. Netizens believe that this particular song leans more towards pop or hip-hop. With this, a few others questioned the VMAs’ selection criteria.

On the other hand, VMAs proved to be lucky for BLACKPINK’s Rosé, who got a total of 8 nominations, especially for her track titled APT
