What is the possibility of Hijack Season 2 renewal?
Before we begin further, let’s take a moment to appreciate the crew and cast who made the series possible. All thanks to George Kay and Jim Field Smith for creating the series. also a round of applause for the talented cast and the rest of the crew for giving their best. Jim Field Smith and Mo Ali is no stranger in this industry and no newbie on the talented directors’ list. Now, keeping all of that aside let’s address the fans’ curiosity to know if Hijack Season 2 is renewed or not.
As of now, Hijack Season 2 neither have been renewed nor canceled by Apple TV+, which is strange, considering Hijack is titled as a Limited series. To those fans who are sure that their favorite show might end after one season, we have a little hope for you all. A few days ago, Hakan Kousetta, the executive producer, told Variety, ” Oh, gosh, I wish I could tell you that. I hope so but we’ll have to see,” he said. “I mean, we’ve thought about it. And that is really challenging. It is something that you’re like, “Wow, how would you do that and it not be completely ridiculous?” We talk about it — but yeah, we’ll have to wait and see. I’m never gonna say no.”
She didn’t say no exactly to the renewal, which seems like a good sign. On the other hand, Idris Elba is excited about the prospect of taking the shoes of Sam Nelson again. He expressed his excitement for Hijack Season 2 in an interview with Variety, “What would be the acceptable scenario that he comes back? Because we’ve thought about this, and obviously Apple has gone, ‘Well, we really love the show.’ And I think, you know, Rotten Tomatoes is at 92% at the moment, which is a good sign, but it’s kind of like — he’s not a cop — what would be the acceptable Sam Nelson return? And if I’m honest, I’m not sure. I’d like that, but I just don’t want to put him on another hijack. I’m open to that character coming back. I think if people were compelled to like the character, then I’m in.”
The cast and crew are more than excited to step into Hijack Season 2 while keeping the curiosity alive. It’s been a rare case in Apple TV+ scripted series history if a mini-series has gotten renewed. Although, given its ecstasy ratings, we have high hopes. Let’s see what their decision unit will be then. Enjoy the latest news of other series by scrolling down!
