Hijack Season 2: Is it happening or not?

Hijack Season 2: Is it happening or not?

“There are 200 people on this flight. If they try something, & then this plane goes down. I don’t get home to my family. Let me make
you an offer.”

Sam Nelson isn’t an ordinary man & we all got to know that in the first two episodes. For those who didn’t watch it yet, spoiler alert! In the first two episodes, we saw how peacefully the passengers sat on the plane. However, the sudden appearance of hijackers has put around 200 people’s lives at risk. We saw how the Wi-Fi got cut & there was no way to contact the authorities. However, Sam sent the emergency message to his wife, who contacted her boyfriend, Daniel, who happens to be in Metropolitan Police. Jumping on the second episode finale, we see Sam has won a little trust of Stuart.

Our hope on the ground authorities was Abdullah, who doubted Robin’s lame excuse for raising the alarm. Although before he could do anything, he got killed at Neela’s house. On the other hand, Sam & Robin’s plan paid off, Alice’s suspicions were confirmed when the flight’s path was changed & police took the hint! Can Hijack Season 2 continue after the finale?

Is Hijack Season 2 happening or not?

Before we jump right into the topic, let’s take a moment to thank George Kay & Jim Field Smith for creating such a powerful show. Hijack is a British thriller mini-series that aired its first two episodes on June 28, 2023, only on Apple TV+. If any of you noticed, you would have already gotten their answers regarding the second season. If not, allow us to simplify it. It’s recognized that Hijack is set to be a mini-series, which is just another word for limited series. Both terms are used when the specific show is created with the intention of not continuing for an extended period. This term is attacked with the show, which means Hijack Season 2 doesn’t seems likely to be airing.

However, if the audience strongly wishes for it to happen, I don’t think anything in this world can stop it. On top of that, Idris Elba, who played the role of Sam Nelson, has expressed his desire to return as Nelson, “I like Sam, too … Look, I’m going to be honest here. I’d like to see Sam come back, but I just don’t want to see another Hijack. It’s got to be clever, and we can see him make decisions that are impossible to make. And I think that’s going to be fun for the audience, but it has to be the right setup. So who knows? If the audience wants it, it’s going to happen.”

He further added, “I love Apple & we love each other & I think we’re gonna work together again, but we’re just not currently in a set up as official. It’s nice having a production deal but there are restrictions. And I feel like my career as an actor has been so random and different — why change now?” As far as we know, the possibility of Hijack Season 2 might not be so likely although if the audience wishes for it to happen, nothing can stop it.

We can’t be sure if a second installment is gonna happen or not since it’s a futuristic approach that will depend on how the first season ends. All we do know is the Hijack season 1 episode 3, titled Draw a Blank, is set to air on July 5, 2023. In the last episode, we do see the ground authorities finally gaining knowledge of the Hijack. We might get to know the real intentions of the hijackers in the third episode.

Nothing can be said with confidence. Hijack Season 2 might happen or not. The first season is filled with some clever and mind-blowing scripts that we can guarantee.
