BTS boys were missing in action, as a group, for more than two years. But they still continued to dominate the K-pop world in spite of their musical hiatus.
So much so that they have become the world’s favorite. In Arirang TV’s recent survey of the world’s most beloved male K-pop idols, six BTS members made it to the Top 7, with one even securing the top position.
By making his way up to the number 1 spot, Jungkook has now been crowned as the world’s favourite male K-pop idol by securing 12.7 per cent votes. Jimin is not left far behind as he falls just below Jungkook, in second place with 11.1 per cent votes. Here, too, Jikook decided, or maybe not, to stay together.
Top 7 world’s most favourite male K-pop idols:
- BTS’ Jungkook: 12.7 per cent
- BTS’ Jimin: 11.1 per cent
- BTS’ RM: 6.9 per cent
- BTS’ V: 6.5 per cent
- BTS’ J-Hope: 6 per cent
- SHINee’s Taemin: 4.9 per cent
- BTS’ Jin: 3.7 per cent
Since his discharge from the military on June 11, Jungkook hasn’t announced any solo music project yet. But he will be seen in Season 2 of the travel reality show Are You Sure?! alongside Jimin.
Earlier this month, in a Weverse live, BTS announced its return with a new album and world tour in Spring 2026.

While there are still several months to go before the group treats their fans to new music, the septet is all set to release their first-ever live album, Permission to Dance on Stage – Live, on July 18.
It seems that the group has already started working on new music, as recent reports suggest that the members are traveling to the US and are not expected to be back in South Korea for the next two months.
BTS leader RM flew to Los Angeles on July 6. He was joined by SUGA, Jimin, and Jungkook on July 7.
In the meantime, more than half a decade old song of the group is making records. Home, which was released back in 2019, has re-entered the World Digital Song Sales chart this week.
This time, the song has made it to No. 1 on Billboard’s ranking of the bestselling world tracks throughout the United States – for the first time.

With this achievement, BTS has registered their 38th No. 1 on that chart, surpassing any other artist.
While the group’s musical reunion has to be the most exciting and highly anticipated, the members are making sure to keep the entertainment going by taking up solo ventures.
J-Hope is preparing for his much-awaited performance at Lollapalooza Berlin on July 13, and Jin is keeping busy with his first-ever solo world tour, which will conclude in August.
V, on the other hand, is making headlines at Paris Fashion Week with his head-to-toe Celine ensemble. He was also seen wandering the city sporting a Bartholomew Bear Bag from Jellycat. While many appreciated V’s style, some were left surprised by his choice of accessory.

Just recently, V sent the ARMY into a frenzy by revealing his extreme weight loss journey. In a live chat, he mentioned losing 2 kg in four days in order to return to being a singer after the completion of his mandatory military training. He was discharged on June 10, along with RM, after completing 18 months of service.
