Kim Kardashian is acknowledging Caitlyn Jenner’s pivotal role in keeping Keeping Up with the Kardashians on television and opening up about her expanding career in acting and law.
During the taping of The Graham Norton Show on Friday, Oct. 24, the 45-year-old reality star and SKIMS founder reflected on her family’s journey from their early days on the E! reality series to their current Hulu show, The Kardashians.
Kardashian explained that when the family filmed the pilot for Keeping Up with the Kardashians in 2007, they had no idea how long it would last. “We shot the pilot and had no idea what it would turn into, but 20 years on it is still going,” she told host Graham Norton. The original series aired for 14 years, ending in 2021, before the family transitioned to their new Hulu series the following year.
The star highlighted one major life event that she believes extended the show’s longevity — Caitlyn Jenner’s 2015 gender transition. Jenner, now 75, publicly came out as a transgender woman that year, announcing her transition on the cover of Vanity Fair and in an interview with Diane Sawyer. She later starred in her own documentary series, I Am Cait.
Kardashian told Norton that her step-parent’s transition became a defining chapter in the family’s story. “The shows write themselves,” she joked. “Once, when we wondered what might happen next, my stepdad turned into a woman and there were two more seasons right there.”

Caitlyn Jenner has previously said that publicly embracing her identity was essential to living authentically. “If I was lying on my deathbed and had kept this secret and never did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, ‘You just blew your entire life,’ ” she told Vanity Fair in 2015. Speaking to PEOPLE in 2020 on the fifth anniversary of her transition, Jenner described the experience of getting her first driver’s license under her new name as deeply emotional, recalling, “There I was. Caitlyn Marie Jenner.”
Kardashian was among Jenner’s most vocal supporters during that time. At the 2015 CFDA Fashion Awards, she told Extra that Jenner’s transition was “her moment” to live authentically. Kardashian added that she was “so proud” and that Jenner’s courage could inspire others who struggle to feel comfortable in their own skin.
Jenner recently made her first appearance on The Kardashians in a teaser for season 7, which premiered on Oct. 23, marking her return to the family’s television world after several years away.
While on The Graham Norton Show, Kardashian also spoke about her growing acting career. She stars in All’s Fair, a Hulu legal drama where she plays a divorce lawyer alongside Naomi Watts, Glenn Close, Niecy Nash-Betts, Sarah Paulson and Teyana Taylor.
“Working with a cast like this, I wanted to make sure I was completely prepared,” she said. Kardashian explained that she focused on professionalism and discipline on set, learning from her co-stars daily. “These women are the greatest at what they do, and I just watched and learned every day. It was an honor.”

All’s Fair premieres on Hulu on November 4. Kardashian said she will begin filming her first movie in January 2026 and hopes the series will return for a second season.
Beyond entertainment, Kardashian continues to pursue her legal career. During the show, she revealed that her bar exam results are due soon and that she expects to qualify within two weeks. “Maybe in 10 years, I’ll give up being Kim K and be a trial lawyer. That’s what I really want,” she said.
Kardashian completed California’s Law Office Study Program on May 21, 2024. The alternative pathway allows students to apprentice under licensed attorneys rather than attend law school. According to PEOPLE, the program took her six years to finish instead of the typical four, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and work commitments.
Jessica Jackson, one of the attorneys supervising Kardashian’s studies, said in a graduation speech that the star devoted “18 hours a week, 48 weeks a year for six straight years” to the program.
Kardashian now stands on the verge of officially qualifying to practice law — while simultaneously expanding her reach as an actor, entrepreneur and television personality.
