Throughout the series, we go through several Serial killer series and try to understand their reasoning & psychology to find out why they did what they did. In the second season, we got introduced to The Atlanta Child Murders & The BTK Killer. We also saw how the officers went through a series of panic & anxiety attacks.
We further witnessed how Brain’s behavior changed due to his father’s work. The obsession of Bill with Atlanta Child Murder comes to an end after the arrest of Wayne Williams. The case began as there were still several things that needed answers. The series might be a dark theme with several disturbing scenes, but still, we loved the show wholeheartedly. That’s why, it’s tough for us to accept Mindhunter Season 3 cancellation. To ease our hearts and yours too, we bring here the reasons why the show got canceled by Netflix.
Why Isn’t Netflix renewing Mindhunter Season 3?
Several doubts are rising in your hearts, so allow us to clear them. Mindhunter director David French cleared the air in an outlet Le Journal du Dimanche that Season 3 won’t be happening, and Mindhunter’s high cost was to blame. “I’m very proud of the first two seasons. But it’s a very expensive show and, in the eyes of Netflix, we didn’t attract enough of an audience to justify such an investment [for Season 3],” he said.
“I don’t blame them, they took risks to get the show off the ground, gave me the means to do Mank the way I wanted to do it, and they allowed me to venture down new paths with The Killer. It’s a blessing to be able to work with people who are capable of boldness. The day our desires are not the same, we have to be honest about parting ways.” Apart from the expensive issues and popularity of the show, other reasons like the psychological impact and disturbance in their lifestyle were also to be blamed. Although fans aren’t going to let it that easily considering a petition is going on to bring Mindhunter Season 3.

Moreover, the petition began, around three years back, so we believe the scope of return isn’t that bright.

The first season of “Mindhunter” holds a certified fresh rating of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes while the second season holds around 97% approval rating. Even on IMDb, the series has maintained around 8.6/10 ratings. It’s clear to say if Mindhunter Season 3 ever gets launched, the series would hold a good rating too.
