“I’m gonna make it goddamnit. That’s right, folks. It’s a musical. Get ready for Death Rattle: Dazzle. What are you doing with that?”
Seems like we got a more complicated murder this time! The more complications, the more likely it is for our trio to restart their podcast! So here we are back with Mabel, Charles, and Oliver, in which now, the story revolves around Oliver’s Broadway show when Ben Glenory, the lead actor, dies on stage. At the same time, the fandom has its own opinions regarding Ben Glenory’s death in Only Murders in the Building Season 3.
Most of these rumors started from the trailers, and they got a boost after the release of the first two episodes! If you have doubts, have you seen the ratings yet? Only Murders In The Building have a 99% Rotten Tomatoes rating while 8.1/10 IMDb rating. So we aren’t exaggerating when we say the hype of this series is one of the highest!

While we can dive into details of how come the show has such high ratings, however, we are more focused on why fans are enquiring if Ben is dead or alive. For that, stay with us, and we shall have a summarized answer.
Is Ben dead or alive in Only Murders In The Building Season 3?
Before we start digging further to find out the answers, let’s take a moment to appreciate the crew who made the series possible! All thanks to Steve Martin and John Hoffman for creating the show. Also, a huge round of applause for the wonderfully talented cast for giving love to their characters. Now reversing on our current topic, Is Ben alive? If you haven’t watched the first two episodes of the third season, Spoiler Alert!
Technically, Ben was alive, but by the end of the second episode, he was murdered… again. To simplify the dramatic, Ben was admitted to the hospital as soon as he dropped on the stage at Charles comebacks broadway show. When we all assumed his death, the Afterparty was set, and it couldn’t be postponed. At the Afterparty, which took place in Arconia (the apartment building), Ben’s ghost show up! Just Kidding, Alive Ben shows up, stunning everyone (I think by everyone, they meant the audience). While he said something was wrong with his stomach, but now he’s better, it actually meant he was poisoned but not enough to kill him.
Whoever the killer is, they don’t have any skills with poisoning, so they take matters into their hands. Literally in their hands when they pushed Ben from the top of the elevator, which was previously broken..? Anyhow, guess who witness the fall? I think we all know the answer, our trio witnessed the fall, but they couldn’t catch the killer. This time, his blood-dripping, open-eye-body is enough to conclude that he’s gone for sure.
So those who thought Ben was alive in Only Murders in the Building Season 3, sorry, folks! But for those who genuinely believed Ben is alive, then what were you expecting? Ben’s death was inevitable however, the way it got centred at the building again was impressive. Only Murders in the Building Season 3 had a different approach. We think Ben’s death twist was done basically to bring him back and kill him in the building since the whole concept is related to the building.
While we also know the first two Murders also happened in the building, this was bound to happen. Now as fans are waiting for Only Murders in the Building Season 3 Episode 3, which will air on August 15, 2023, only on Hulu or Disney+, the third season saga just began, and we can’t keep our excitement in.
