Realizing that all’s well that ends well to end up together, Travis Kelce finally opens up about his magical proposal to Taylor Swift that left the Swifties in a haze.
On September 3, the NFL player appeared on the New Heights podcast, co-hosted by him and his brother, Jason Kelce. In the episode, Jason addressed the elephant in the room, beginning with a subtle hint, “Travis, we gotta talk about it.” To which, the 35-year-old Kansas City Chiefs replied, “I don’t think we do.”
Unable to contain his excitement, Jason exclaimed, “In case you missed the Instagram post heard round the world, Travis and Taylor are engaged! Yay!”
Failing to dissuade his brother, Travis conceded, “That’s right, that’s right. And I appreciate everybody who reached out and sent something, and all the posts and all the excitement that’s been going on. It’s been really fun telling everybody who I’m going to be spending the rest of my life with.”
Post-engagement, Travis Kelce attended the Cincinnati Bearcats game with the Lover singer. The American player expressed his excitement at announcing that Swift is his fiancée. “It was my first time introducing Taylor as my fiancée to a few of my teammates. So yeah, it was pretty cool.”
Curious to know what his younger sibling felt, Jason asked, “Don’t you get giddy saying it?”
To which he replied, “Yeah, I do. I still get giddy, exciting times.”
Concerning any advice for popping the question, the Kansas City Chiefs tight-end said, “Man, you’ve gotta know your gal. You’ve gotta know your gal or your significant other. You can’t let how somebody else does it make you feel like you need to do it that way… I would just say know your partner, know who you’re doing it for, and do it for the right reasons.”
In the same episode, Travis talked about his next milestone with Taylor – the wedding.
Corroborating with the fans’ excitement about their future, Jason teased, “I cannot wait to hear more of the planning and everything that will take place.” He further added, “Travis, you’re about to embark on the wedding planning phase of a relationship.”
Confirming his brother’s thoughts, the American football player said, “Oh, it’s gonna go crazy. That is the next step, yeah, I’ve heard about that.”
Be that as it may, it seems that it’s too early for the wedding bells to ring. According to PEOPLE’s source, the couple “are not in the wedding planning phase yet.”
“Taylor and Travis have been in celebration mode ever since the engagement”, the source informed.
On the Bussin’ with the Boys podcast, Jason Kelce had recently expressed his hopes for being the best man in his brother’s wedding.
“Hopefully I’m the best man. We’ll see. Trav has a lot of friends, I’m just hoping to get the opportunity,” he said.

But the actual proposal, according to Travis’ father, Ed, happened two weeks before August 26 at Kelce’s home.

Two weeks before the engagement, the couple was spotted together on the New Heights podcast, which was the debut of the 14-time Grammy Award winner. According to PEOPLE, the episode broke the Guinness World Record for “the most concurrent views for a podcast on YouTube,” crossing a whopping 1.3 million, providing a glimpse of Taylor and Travis’ strong bond.
While the world is gearing up for the couple’s wedding, some are also throwing shade at Kayla Nicole, Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend, according to BuzzFeed. In the latest episode of her podcast, The Pre-Game, Kayla said that the amount of umbrage that she’s experiencing from the public is impacting her.
She said, “I certainly have felt like I’ve been canceled on numerous occasions. I get canceled every month at this point. It’s very rare that I address the cancelling that’s happening, but I see it. And I would lie if I said that it didn’t affect me or impact me.”
She further expressed, “I don’t fear necessarily being canceled because I don’t think that people hold that power. I think that God has for me what God has for me, and you guys can’t change the trajectory of my life, regardless of what you think of me. However, I’m sensitive, I am triggered.”
Additionally, she had also put an end to all the rumors, pointing out that she’s creating drama while talking about her “lived experience”. She said, “I’m just a human who wants to talk about my life. Sue me, sweetie! Jesus!”
Travis and Nicole reportedly dated for five years with a few time-outs in between.
