On the other hand, Ava & Beatrice’s romance bloomed, making us fans more than happy. Although their separation did hurt our hearts for the survival of Ava, it was necessary. Their goodbye’s were tearful, making us more upset than ever, although crossing the Ark is her only chance. Looks like Reya is much more powerful than Adriel, she did eliminate the demons.
But what if she’s the main villain? What if she heals Ava, but something happens to her? Or what if she takes Halo back after all, it was stolen by Adriel! The series has so much potential & the fandom is more than ready to dive in. However, it has been months & we haven’t gotten Warrior Nun Season 3. Is Warrior Nun Season 3 renewed or canceled?
As much as it hurts in sharing the news, we are bound to reveal it. The second season aired on November 10, 2022, after which an announcement got made in December 2022. It stated that Netflix has canceled Warrior Season 3. I know, we want tissues too! The show has explored the clash between religious institutions and personal spirituality. The Order of the Cruciform Sword, the ancient organization of warrior nuns, operates within the framework of the Catholic Church. Overall, “Warrior Nun” explores themes of faith, doubt, identity, power, and the struggle against evil.

So why cancel? It wasn’t the lack of viewership, considering the strikes & petition signed against Netflix to reverse their decision. According to Forbes, there is something called the “Warrior Nun Run” where people are running outside as some sort of IRL event to bring more attention to the cause. But as ever, the main hashtag is #SaveWarriorNun, and the constant refrain fans sing. Previously, Warrior Nun fans crowdfunded a billboard to sit outside a Netflix office, asking them to save the series.”
After the cancellation news came out, fans burst on social media and picked the reason behind their decision. Some fans believe that the decision was due to a trend of discontinuing female leads with queer representation, known as the trope “Cancel Your Gays”
Even a Petition is going on on Change.org named Renew Warrior Nun For Season 3. The Petition is started by Sarah Manning over five months ago against Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, HBO, Apple TV+, Paramount+ Starz, Syfy, Netflix, Peacock & Showtime. The shocking news as on May 13, 2023, over 1,22,021 people have signed this petition, and if it reaches its target of 1,50,000 signatures. It’ll become one of the top signs on Change.org! Let’s help them reach this goal, right? Even Barry recently opened up to Empire about his show’s cancelation but has remained surprisingly optimistic about its future thanks to a fan campaign to keep Warrior Nun on the air.
In another interview, Barry opened up about how there originally planned more than two seasons for the show, “With Warrior Nun, I would give it a window because we’re still so early in the process of developing it. Anything between five and seven seasons would be lovely.” He has also joined in the fight with the fans to get the renewal.
The impact might make Netflix rewind its decisions since there is a possibility here! If the Warrior Nun Season 3 happens, we can expect it to air in 2024 or 2025. not before that!
