After a lot of speculation, former VCHA member KG Crown, also known as Kiera Grace Madder, has announced that she and JYP Entertainment have mutually agreed to part ways. She had earlier filed a lawsuit to terminate her contract with the agency and leave the group in December 2024.

Now, it seems like everything’s sorted, and both parties have made peace.

Meanwhile, KG took to Instagram on August 8 and revealed in one of her stories that the contract dispute with JYP Entertainment had come to an end.

Here’s what the former VCHA member wrote in her IG story, “JYP America and KG Crown have mutually agreed to part ways as she concludes her journey with VCHA. Both parties sincerely wish each other all the best in their future endeavors. Thank you.”

This happened just a day after JYP Entertainment announced that VCHA members Lexi, Kendall, Camila, and Savanna would be rebranding as a new four-member girl group called GIRLSET. Both Kaylee and the agency announced earlier last month that they had mutually agreed to part ways after her yearlong hiatus.

When VCHA ‘blacked out’

A few days ago, netizens were shocked to find that VCHA’s name was missing from the list of artists at JYP Entertainment’s website. The rumored possible reason? A disbandment. Many even took to social media to give their opinions regarding the group’s sudden absence.

To make matters worse, reports were already rife about the legal tensions between KG and the agency.

However, the good news is that nothing went haywire for either party.

JYP Entertainment’s new strategy for VCHA

August 7 proved to be a new day for the VCHA members as they got a new name, GIRLSET, as mentioned earlier. All this while JYP Entertainment was planning the group’s return, which is why their social media channels were completely blacked out, most probably to create hype about the rebranding announcement.

The group, VCHA, was originally formed through the A2K Project. The joint global audition program is held in collaboration with a subsidiary of Universal Music Group, Republic Records. The members originally debuted in January 2024 as JYP’s first US-based girl group. Since then, they have released two pre-debut singles and two single albums.

Now that the group has rebranded itself, we may expect some new tracks and albums from GIRLSET soon.
